Spoiler: click to toggle The next Spider Man film supposedly begins only minutes after the end of Avengers 4. I believe the new Ant Man occurs within the same time frame as Infinity War.

Spoiler: click to toggle Well that's a little unfair considering a lot of heroes got erased, but neither ant man nor wasp did?

Spoiler: click to toggle Ant man and the Wasp were not in the movie at all. There was a reference to Ant man early on and that was it. He could be erased but we have no clue.

Spoiler: click to toggle What a downer this movie was. It was constant fighting from the 2nd act onward, and then the ending was just a kick in the nuts. Good on Marvel for having the fortitude to make a rather depressing movie like that, even though it'll all clearly be undone soon enough.
Thanos was never that impressive, but at least I liked his characterization far more than any other MCU villain so far. I was on Pratt's side the whole movie until he stupidly f***ed up the plan and allowed Thanos to finish his. Like WTF, man, reign in your emotions for two minutes while Spidey and Stark remove the gauntlet, then you can wail on Thanos all you want! Jesus, that pissed me off.
As for Strange, he gave the stone because it was the only way to save Stark, who will likely be a vital part to actually beating Thanos in the next one. He saw upwards of 14 million possible futures, and only one of them was a winner, so that's probably the one we're witnessing. He knew they weren't going to beat Thanos right there, so he was thinking long-term.

Went to see it a couple days ago.
Spoiler: click to toggle I'd probably have been annoyed by the ending if I hadn't read the spoilers first. Basically, the sort-of-plot-twist is that it's not a full story but rather the first part of one. While the format is obviously a massive financial success, from a creative standpoint, I don't think three hour long blockbusters are the best medium for telling serialized long-form stories. It's a problem with franchises as a whole, specially "cinematic universes", but it's more evident than ever in this movie.
Also, Marvel Studios is very, very bad at balancing out the serious tone with comedy. The movie is satisfyingly intense when it's not getting interrupted by gut-busting hilarious jokes. Anyway, I enjoyed it. I had some issues with it, and it has that artificial feeling of most modern Marvel (and DC) movies, but it didn't strictly follow the MCU narrative formula, which is good. It's probably the most gripping of those movies since Winter Soldier. It didn't feel as crowded as I thought it would. Thanos had great screen presence. I liked Spidey, Stark and Dr. Strange here more than I did in their solo movies.
I read somewhere that Tobias Fünke is in it. That's great.

Spoiler: click to toggle So . . . they're not dead, right? The people that turned into dirt that is. There was like zero emotion behind it except Peter. Thanos has the ability to turn back time. Tbh, he'll probably end up turning back time to the point before Loki died. There was like no emotion to Loki's death and he is one of the most popular characters. Maybe I'm just in denial, but I don't think he's staying dead. Besides all of the death stuff, pretty good movie. I thought they were killing Thanos in this movie, but Ig not. Captain America's performance was pretty disappointing, but he has had his spotlight moments. As of Ragnarok and this movie, Thor has become much more likable for me. He's probably around my third or second favorite character now. First being Loki and the other being Spider-Man. Also . . . Spider-Man has like two more movies planned lol. So he's obviously not dead. I realize it can be before Infinity War. But I don't see that holding true. Also, Thor's axe rocked.

Spoiler: click to toggle I think the likes of Loki and Gamora might stay dead but every character who "died" in the disintegration scene is obviously coming back. The entire sequence felt more like the cliffhanger of a TV episode than the highly emotional conclusion of a mega-blockbuster. Their actors' hundred-movie Disney contracts haven't expired yet and some of them are scheduled to star in MCU sequels all the way up to the year 3000.
Holland's performance was pretty good tho, and would've been emotionally striking if not for the fact there's a Spider-Man sequel coming up.
