Im in the process of doing my first re-watch of DBZ in 3 years and had a question regarding the audio options on the Blu-Ray sets. I personally prefer the English Dub with the Falcouner score cos of nostalgia and all though I do like the original Japanese score as well. My question is in regards to the dub rather than the music though. In the audio options to access the US version its an option called English With Broadcast Music 2.0, does anyone know what that means exactly and why its a 2.0. Also is there any difference in the English dubs with the Japanese or US music selected sorry if that sounds like a dumb question but its something which has always bothered me since I know that re-dubs were done around the time they did the original Orange Brick sets. |

The English dub with the Japanese music or Broadcast music is the same exact dub. As for the 2.0 question I have no clue, my first thought is that it was the original in-house Funi dub back when Sabat was doing poor Brian Drummond and Scott Mcneil impressions and the dub had really stupid lines like "Holy cosmos that's one whopper of a lizard!" but somehow I doubt it as I'm pretty sure Funimation wants everyone to forget that early dub ever existed. Thanks for clarifying that for me. Yeah thankfully its Sabat doing his proper Vegeta and not the terrible one he did 20 years ago when they first started doing the dub. I found a comparision clip online the other day comparing the different FUNimation dubs from their original, re-dub in the mid 00s and then Kai and that original Sabat as Vegeta clip was pretty damn terrible. I guess things like this were what they went back and re-dubbed when they did the Ultimate Uncut releases in 2005 for Seasons 1+2 and then made additional changes for the eventual Orange Brick sets. |

The 2.0 track is the same "re-touched" audio track that has Sabat's re-recorded lines for Vegeta from the Orange Bricks, but it is the original Faulconer backround soundtrack. It is only in stereo because they didn't remaster it into 5.1 audio. That's all. The 5.1 track is the Japanese background music. |
