Should B teams be allowed in the English league system?

In some sports, B teams or even as low as E/5th teams are allowed in the league system. This is common in English hockey, for example. Likewise, in Spain B leagues of La Liga teams are often found in the lower leagues.

Do you think teams in the English league system (not just premier league teams, but all teams could have a B team) should be allowed to have B teams compete professionally?

Not sure what the point would be. They are there to give youth players experience and help senior players get fit from injuries. Promotion is probably counter productive and so competing at a professional level is pointless.

The B-teams in Spain aren't allowed to be promoted, that's how they can exist.

Competing professionally would give them exposure and give them an opportunity to compete with teams who are really trying to get promoted. That experience would be closer to real A team professional football than playing in a league where everyone is a reserve.

Leve Feyenoord 1!

In the Netherlands they kind of ruin the second league. There is also money to be made in the second leagues, you already see teams like Ajax and PSV leaving out good players in matches that don't matter, that allows them to select them for the B teams in that same week. They're kind of abusing the system, and they don't add much to the league. Jong Ajax are also becoming champions this year. Just seems like Ajax is taking prize money away from Fortuna Sittard.

Is that how it works? I'd imagine the original team placed the highest gets the money. I didn't think reserve teams actually got any money for competing.

Over here they do. It's the biggest flaw imo.
