ARSENE WENGER TO LEAVE ARSENAL FC

Wow, seems like he's leaving this season. The man whose name almost literally is "Arsenal". I'm not sure if it was his choice or not - at the moment it seems like he left because he felt pressure from the board. This is like Alex Ferguson 2.0 for English football. He didn't win as much as Ferguson, but kept Arsenal in the top 4 for so many years and of course did have some very strong seasons and helped to build some world class players (Henry, Fabregas, Ashley Cole, Viera, Pires to name a few) and always guaranteed a certain style of quality football.

He made his mark on international football too, to a lesser degree. Whether he will stay in football coaching or management remains to be seen.

It seems very unlikely he will have a hand in choosing his replacement. I'm sure many established managers will be interested, but unlike under Wenger, it won't be guaranteed that Arsenal will be one of the top teams next season and the playing style they have been known for since the 90s could go away.

Was about time. He has done an incredible job with the club, only missing out on the big Champions League as a manager. Arsenal should be ever grateful for what he has done.

They've been finishing lower and lower in the table every season. He had to go.

True. Hopefully the coaching and scouting of young players will stay at a high level, but he's now far from the best option for actually winning a major trophy.

Brendan Rodgers has said he wouldn't take the Arsenal job if offered, as he isn't ready to leave Celtic and return to the English league yet. His favoured play-style would have been a good fit for Arsenal. Klopp could work, but there's no reason for him to leave Liverpool now.

Allegri (Juventus) and Luis Enrique are both names in the mix at the moment.

I saw Ancelotti's name come up too. He's a decent manager but he doesn't stick around for long enough. I think Arsenal would want someone who could stay for a few seasons.

Thomas Tuchel, Luis Enrique or Eddie Howe would probably fit very well. I can see Mikel Arteta doing a good job too, he knows the club well.

Well Ancelloti was sacked by Parma, Juventus, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. He voluntarily left AC Milan and PSG. It's feasible that he would stay at a big club like Arsenal for 7-8 years, but then again if AC Milan asked him to return, maybe he would leave for them.

Arteta has done well at Man City apparently. I only want him to be Arsenal manager if he's ready, because he's one of my favourite players and it would suck if he got fired.
