Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

What movies would you say have the best soundtracks?

As in the whole soundtrack not one or two good singular tracks.

For me I think there's something so special about the soundtrack to the brilliant, massively under rated, Swiss Army Man.

Barely any instruments at all, most of the soundtrack is just Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe singing.
Amazingly unique soundtrack for an even more unique movie.

And for something a bit more dramatic, the good ol' Inception soundtrack sure is hard to beat.
This track makes easily one of the best ending sequences in movies.

(Not counting musicals)

Halloween
Halloween III: Season of the Witch
Big Trouble in Little China
Prince of Darkness
They Live
Star Trek II and III
Tron (Original)
Lord of the Rings (all three)
The Sixth Sense
Unbreakable
High Noon
The Alamo

There are countless movies with great soundtracks but those are the ones that spring to mind right now.

Hmmm...

Lots of good suggestions up there already.

Off the top of my head, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

Also The TransFormers: The Movie.

And since we're on this subject, clicking my sig will lead you to some of Hans Zimmer's best tracks, from The Lion King.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Craig Armstrong's score for The Incredible Hulk. Such an underrated masterpiece which comprises epic orchestral compositions

Zimmer's score for Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. Easily trumps any superhero film soundtrack

The Neverending Story and Scarface by Giorgio Moroder.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox, The King's Speech, The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Shape of Water by Alexandre Desplat

The Lion King, The Pirates of the Caribbean series and The Dark Knight trilogy by Hans Zimmer.

Anything by John Williams.

These four would be my favorite soundtrack composers. Honorable mention to Enrico Morricone who has been used frequently by Sergio Leone and Quentin Tarantino. Once Upon a Time in America has a fantastic soundtrack.

When it comes to dramas, I like movies where they don't try to induce emotion by putting melodramatic music in the background and let the scene's action itself take centre stage. Of course, if the action (or its delivery) is lacklustre, the scene won't hold up. The only times I remember being impressed by soundtracks (excluding musicals) have been when they've refused to drown powerful scenes in music.
