JUSTICE LEAGUE IS NOW THE LOWEST-GROSSING MOVIE OF THE DCEU

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Yeah f*** Warner Brothers and their stupid hard on for mimicking Disney's success, they've wrecked this.

I guess a reboot with The Flash could work, rebooting so far has worked for X-Men.
I just hope the reboot won't be full on Injustice, we've barely had any actual Justice don't do that it'll just completely die.

I want Flashpoint Paradox and then a rebooted universe done better, if they can get that done it could be fixed but it's doubtful Warner Brothers will want to invest in it...or at least, not in an intelligent way.

I can't second this enough.

Also, going the Injustice route would be foolish. People were rejecting the dark, brooding Superman already, and going with that again would be bad news. He needs to have a bit more of the traditional optimism, in my opinion, especially when he needs to counteract an already dark character in Batman.

I don't think the tone of MoS and BvS was the problem, it was the fact that they simply made the colour palette darker and had some brooding and think that makes it 'deep'. Giving characters motivations that make sense and earning that grittiness would have been fine. Civil War was 'deeper' than BvS with colour as well. Justice League was okay to me but also I felt it was a shame to move away from the tone they'd been trying before because they thought audiences didn't like it when in truth they just weren't doing that tone in a good way.

God, I hope they never go the "Injustice route". I want none of that bottom of the barrel edgy writing.

I wonder if this Flashpoint movie will be a reboot that reverberates through the other films in a significant way or if they'll do just like in the CW DC-verse and have a Flashpoint that only affects the Flash storyline, with only small incidental changes in the rest of the universe. I doubt general audiences would enjoy a comic book-style cosmic retcon.

My Dear Melancholy,

From rumors the reboot will allow a new Batman to be casted if Ben decided to leave. The rest of the universe will get tweaks and maybe costume changes.

Batfleck should stay, I have nothing against him and he's one of my favourite newer Batmen.

If they do replace him, hopefully it's someone good too.

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

It's 2018, like who the hell even watches superhero movies now? Didn't they like peaked out and died down like a decade plus back? So, this isn't really surprising to me at least.

Maybe you just got out of prison or something man buuut. They've only been getting more and more popular. Wonder Woman, Black Panther, Thor Ragnarok. These have all been huge smashes at the box office and that's within the past year alone.

Yeah I think those movies would have been great if the characters were just developed more, stop with the symbolic bulls*** and make me like and understand the characters.

I think MoS was fine for the most part, it just wasn't well explained that Superman was a total noob. That people complained about all the destruction was just kinda silly really, he had to fight three people as strong as him who were actually trained in combat and his only advantage was that he could fly.
I think if the other issues with the film were removed people might not have minded that.

And with BvS obviously a s*** ton needed to be different.

Personally I didn't mind Jesse Eisenberg as Lex but his motivations and whole plan were dumb and not well explained at all.
He needed Zod's body for testing but he'd somehow already tested Kryptonite on it...kay? Why would the government let some businessman anywhere near him

In any case ideally they should just stop now, if Aquaman is a bust then the DCEU is probably done for.
And let's face it, not a whole lot of hope for Aquaman being the one thing that saves it. If the whole movie is going to be dreary like the Atlantis section in Justice League then...yeah...

Aquaman was one of the highlights of JL for a lot of people, and like Gothic said, the cast's carrying a lot of people's attention to the DCEU.

He's also the most popular DC hero outside of the Trinity (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman) alongside Green Lantern and Flash, so he's bound to get people's attention, whether for casual interest or for s***s or giggles.

I think mostly the latter there, outside of comic book fandom.

And he has a good actor playing him but the problem will more likely be the tone of the movie.

Either it's going to be the same tone people don't like.

Or they're going to make it more like an MCU movie, which is a coin toss between everyone hates it or people like it.
Given what we've seen I'm not picturing Atlantis being colourful and interesting.

All in all it still might be a solid movie on it's own but enough to brink the DCEU back from the brink?

Yeah with Black Panther being a money making juggernaut right now, and Infinity War right around the corner, I'd say the peak is yet to come. Maybe after, but it's not slowing down as of yet.

But all will bend the knee once Aquaman comes out.

Actually, I suppose one other vague hope the DCEU has is if the MCU starts getting super s***.
I can still see Infinity War being a complete mess with so many characters on board, it'll obviously get it's billions in the box office but I can imagine the actual quality of the movie not being quite as high as expected.

I see a lot of people bored with the Marvel formula too and it's not really changed much. Plus Chris Pine is leaving so Captain America is most definitely getting murked, unless they don't have the balls to do it.
