What are some strange sayings you've heard in your life?

I just heard someone say "Happy as Larry." And I couldn't help thinking who is Larry?

As for strange sayings... "Happy as a clam" comes to mind, are clams... particularly happy?

Clams can only be dug up at low tides, so at high tide a clam is safer and secure, so therefore, happy. :)

Most expressions are odd as long as you don't provide their meaning or origin.

"Kick the bucket" is one I've never understood 100%. If you're gonna kick the bucket, you're not actually gonna die, you're just kicking the bucket that the guy about to be hanged is standing on. Now that's weird.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Weird and stupid.

"Well crack an egg and call me a chicken!"

Came up with it myself actually.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I've always found

"The pot calling the kettle black" to be quite a stupid saying.

POTS AND KETTLES AREN'T ALWAYS BLACK

And "I miss him something fierce"

Why is it worded that way? Fierce is an odd word to use that way

"Hands down the best ever."

It's so good you have to put your hands down?

Yeah "hands down the best" doesn't sound as right as "hands down the worst" does.
