Think what it takes to become a professional surgeon. It's not just about being amazing with your hands either, but understanding anatomy and surgical procedures/techniques too. And on top of all that you have to know the same as a medical doctor as well. It takes a lot of brains, skills and will power. One final point, I realised today at the hospital that they are always really tall and usually look like male models. The show Scrubs was right to make the surgeons the jocks of the hospital because that's exactly what they are. They are an elite class of people.

You don't give the credit to the amount of practice and hardships these people go through to get there. Most of them are hundreds of thousands in debt from school and certifications, only hoping to make it big and pay it off. It takes an extreme amount of dedication to the skill to do what they do. And yes you would probably do better having a certain intelligence level also.

You don't think they get tired doing surgeries all day? They're not becoming surgeons over night. It's a very draining job and schooling

Last time I talked to a surgeon at night the guy looked like he was about to pass out

That's what I'm saying. The fact that they can qualify at all is amazing to me. You have to be something special.

Possibly. Like Engineer said though, there's a lot of hard work that goes into it. That could be considered part of your genes, but it can also be influenced by your social environment.

I'd say that anybody at the top of their profession, or anybody who does a particularly complex job, is genetically superior. It's just that they're superior in that particular field.

"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."
