Why do people think immortality/living much longer would be bad?

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I frequently have an existential crisis and freak out about death, almost daily. I often find myself searching up when we'll be able to become immortal/extend out life spans in any way because I'm utterly terrified by the idea and want nothing more than to have a fantastically long life.

But when you search for things like this you're bombarded with articles saying "Oh immortality would actually suck" "Everyone you'd know would die" etc etc

I don't get it. I mean sure, after like 8 million years you'd probably be bored and depressed of experiencing the universe...but I'd much rather live like 1000 years and die when I just can't go on any more.
Rather than the 70 or so I might get now, maybe even less if health issues crop up.
The biggest issue with death for me is you get no choice and you have no idea what will happen, I want to go how and when I want. There would definitely be a time when enough was enough and whatever happens after that, so be it.

It seems like all these articles/discussions are meant to console you but for me it just makes me worry more, I have no idea why anyone would choose to live just 70-100 years rather than experience more than that.
It's always taken like the choice is standard life span vs living quite literally until the end of the universe unable to die but there's not many ways that would really happen anyway, someone could still shoot you in the head or pull the plug on whatever machine you became.

All this pro-death propaganda gets in the way of me finding somewhere I can sign up for immortality <_<
My mind won't be changed, life is short as f***. I barely remember 2017 and it's already done.
Even just 200 years would be nice. I hope some sort of trial is announced for it one day, obviously immortality can't just be handed out to everyone but some trial that's excruciatingly painful or something, sign me the crap up. Don't care. My willpower is practically 100% dedicated to the thought of not dying, whatever the cost(provided I'm still "me" after the procedure or whatever)

Other than people who want to die anyway for various reasons I will never understand why people are satisfied with the time we get.

People don't want to see their loved ones die.

They also fear getting really sick of living.

And then like what if you got maimed but couldn't die?

Once you get older you'll appreciate death more. I think once you get weaker in body and mind, you just accept that it's going that way. Young and vigorous people usually wouldn't think like that.

We experience death frequently and can make new connections, all your blood relatives being dead wouldn't really mean you're alone and have no family, you could still lead a happy life after.

Plus unless you have to kill your whole family to become immortal good chance some of them may join you.

I doubt there will be a type of immortality where you can basically be like Frieza and live in pieces, if something like that happened you'd probably either just die or have to be transferred/fixed somehow.
Probably won't even be an issue in like 200 years, unless we do f*** up nanobots/AI and they kill us all.

There's another thing. You know how time goes by quicker as you get older? Imagine how fast everything goes when you are 200 or 2000?

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

Speaking for myself, on many occasions I've found it hard to feel like I want to live for whatever my expected lifespan is, let alone for hundreds and thousands of year. Living just isn't enjoyable enough to want to do away with death.

There's also the possibility that people feel like having a limited time on this Earth gives their life meaning. If you know you'll live forever, then where is your motivation to do anything?

Also, you have a very real fear of death. That's going to impact your ability to see why people would be OK with it.

"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."

I mean, it all depends on how you're living. I don't want to live for eternity working, that sounds like hell (no pun intended).
