Crazy Awesome Legend

Every time I see a person I picture myself beating them up. And it's the same with animals and children and even babies. I see a baby and I imagine myself punting it. I have a theory that its how I process empathy. I have to picture myself doing horrible things so that I don't act on my thoughts. It's not limited to living things either. I always picture vehicles crashing or exploding and buildings falling down. And worst of all it doesn't bother me. I just want answers. Because I'm pretty sure regular people don't picture every person, animal and object suffering damage like I do. |

My first advice would be to talk to a mental health professional. They'll have a much wider knowledge of the subject than I do. It sounds like intrusive thoughts. That's basically any type of thought (violent, sexual, self-defeating, panic etc) that intrudes on your thinking patterns and everybody has them. For most people it occurs on a minor level and it's a lot easier to handle, but for some people it becomes more of a barrage of intrusive thoughts and that's when it becomes a problem. I don't really have any information on why it happens, or how to stop it, but just know that it's not entirely uncommon and it doesn't make you a bad person. Acting on them is what makes somebody a bad person. |

Intrusive eh? Like someone or something is placing them there? That would make sense. I've always suspected that I have some kind of implant in my brain. Probably why certain things in my mind get blocked off or confused. |

It's not that something or someone is causing them. They still occur in the same way as any other thought does, but the definition of intrusive thought is 'inappropriate thoughts at inappropriate times'. They're basically just unwanted or unhelpful thoughts, thoughts we know that don't hold true and aren't our actual desires. |

The first question I have is, does this cause any impairment in your daily life? What problem if any do you have with the thoughts? |
