My question is, what are the differences between each mechanisms? We all learned that the second technique is supposed to go like this: you power-up/?invoke the technique and in the same time and space, you move at the speed of light. However, the first technique means that you teleport yourself to insane distances in a matter of milliseconds. Does your 'spirit' travel faster than the speed of light or you just jump through worm-holes or something? |

No, instant transmission is teleportation so it's not actually a speed. That means goku moves from point A to point B in literally no time whatsoever. Even if you are 9999999999999999x faster than light you can't be faster than teleportation unless your abilities just defy logic People like flash have outpaced teleportation but it's not just raw speed that allows him to that. The speed force grants him god like abilities so despite it not making sense at all, it's possible for him to be faster than teleportation. Only person who is arguably that fast in dragon ball is Super 17 in GT |

When you get to a certain speed you are basically teleporting to those that cant comprehend that speed. So even if you go up against someone who can teleport to them it seems like you are faster as you are there before there brain can comprehend whats going on. |

Instant transmission can't be beat in speed because it doesn't have one, and it doesn't matter if you are as fast as the speed of light multiplied by its own self. Flash beating teleportation sounds like bulls*** to me, no offense. Anyway, In traveling speed Instant transmission is king. In actual combat it's a decent technique you can use to confuse your opponent, or avoid confrontation but Dyspo's technique is far better in that regard if you don't limit his movements. But I think the best "speed" technique in the series is Kibito kai's version of IT, as he doesn't need to detect ki to teleport and can be where he wants instantly. Only thing I could think of beating it is Omnipresence, pure and simple. |

You can't be faster than teleportation, but you can be faster than the reaction speed of someone that teleports. If someone was 1 million times faster than Goku's max speed, Goku could teleport but the other guy could be fast enough to reach Goku's new teleport spot and punch him before Goku has enough time to react to it. |
