I believe Piccolo could handle just about anyone from the Buu arc. Sounds insane? Yes, but that's how inflated the power progression has become in Super. The only fighter who I'm not certain of is a hypothetical SSJ3 Vegetto. In this match up, Cell is nothing. I daresay Piccolo from the U6 tournament could crush him.

Wasn't Ultimate Gohan above Piccolo, so much so he took his arm off easily? Or was that Ultimate Gohan stronger than the one who battled Super Boo?

No, that was a freshly re-achieved Ultimate Gohan, equal to the power he used against Super Boo. Piccolo was undoubtedly inferior, and relied on Gohan's willingness to be put off-guard to win that round.

I could see Piccolo getting to Super Boo level, though.

Ultimate Gohan > Piccolo. That Gohan should be retconned to be way stronger than back in Buu Saga since Gohan can now fight against SSJB-level opponents.

My thoughts were trained on Vegeta's base power making a mockery of SSJ3 Gotenks when coming to the previous conclusion. If Krillin is prompting a stronger Goku into transforming so as not to be ringed out then Piccolo should be even further ahead. How Gohan's superiority fits into that equation is a bit convoluted if you ask me.

Piccolo oneshots without noticing. I don't even think it's debatable remotely debatable either as he's (prior to retraining Gohan to reawaken Mystic) as strong as or stronger than a SSJ2 Gohan who himself was stronger than he was back in the Buu arc.

When they were talking about reawakening his previous strength; it wasn't re-reaching his Buu level power ... it was reawakening his Mystic form.
