What do you normally eat for Christmas dinner? In my house we have a selection of meats. Beef, sausages wrapped in bacon and turkey crown. We also have sprouts, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, carrots, broccoli and parsnips. To all this we can add apple sauce, cranberry sauce, English mustard, bread sauce and mint sauce. And then after all this we wash it down with wine. And then for dessert we have Christmas pudding. |

Honestly, I can't ever remember. It changes every year, I feel like it was lamb last year. This year I think we're having deer tenderloins. Sides usually are macaroni and cheese, rolls, potatoes, and I can't think of what else. |

Pretty much what you said. We usually have turkey every Christmas, but the other meat can change. Pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puddings are the highlights though, two of the greatest food items ever. |

Here, the Christmas dinner always consists of traditional food, some of which I can't translate. Boeuf salad as appetizer. Followed by the main course, which is usually polenta with sarmale (cabbage rolls filled with minced meat and rice). The next course consists of pork, because we have this big, old tradition called Pig Slaughtering before Christmas. So they serve pork steak, sorici (raw pork skin), slanina (raw pork fat), pork aspic and I'll stop because I'm getting nauseous. Cozonac (a very fatty bread cake) for dessert and wine or tuica/afinata/visinata (some kinds of highly alcoholic homemade fruity brandy) as drinks . I guess no wonder my people's obesity rate rockets during holidays. |
