There's a stereotype that Americans are loud. I was wandering if it's because they hardly ever need to speak softer? I live in a house where you can hear everything no matter what room you're in. So we speak more quietly so as not to annoy each other and our neighbours. Some Americans don't have this issue as their houses are larger and there is more space between neighbours. I think this goes for Australians too. They can also be loud. Japanese people are quiet as well because they live in dense spaces like the British do. So is space to do with how loud a culture is? Am I onto something? Edited by Pelador, Dec 5 2017, 01:14 AM.

Depends on what region you're from. While the North talk proper (a bit too proper), New Yorkers tend to have a more strong accent that makes them sound louder than what originally spoken. Mostly due to their already loud environment The border state between South and north. Maryland have three accents. Baltimore accent which tends to get and strong loud with vulgar words, words with Rs, Vowles, and two = tew, do = dew. DMV accent is just strong thick R that gets intense. The third is the rural side which sounds typical country. The south (south Virginia and below) have similar to each other where it sounds distinct and words with As and Just short words sounds nice and stretched and slowed talk. It's cool. West coast , Midwest, and South America (they're Americans too!) Accents I'm not sure. |
