Okay, so this topic is mainly concerned for the US users, but, users from other countries can also comment and post their opinions on the matter. And, I am sure most of you (again, mainly the US users) have heard about this in the past few weeks or months. So, the primary goal of this topic is just to make the users (US users), who are not aware, aware of what is FCC, Net neutrality, whats the current relation between them and how the current relation between them might affect us. [#] What is FCC?
[#] More info about FCC? [#] What is Net neutrality?
[#] More info about Net neutrality? [#] So, whats happening?

Although leaving the EU means we leave a governing body that protects a lot of a person's internet rights (among other things), the UK probably aren't in danger of not having net neutrality. Our broadband market is competitive enough to protect against it (hopefully). Regarding the topic itself, repealing net neutrality laws would be a terrible move. But then, isn't that what America does? Takes fundamental rights, or blossoming ones, and monetises them i.e. healthcare, education. Not surprising that they're trying to do the same with the internet. |
