Okay, so this topic is mainly concerned for the US users, but, users from other countries can also comment and post their opinions on the matter. And, I am sure most of you (again, mainly the US users) have heard about this in the past few weeks or months. So, the primary goal of this topic is just to make the users (US users), who are not aware, aware of what is FCC, Net neutrality, whats the current relation between them and how the current relation between them might affect us.

[#] What is FCC?
Quote:

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. An independent U.S. government agency overseen by Congress, the Commission is the federal agency responsible for implementing and enforcing America's communications law and regulations.

[#] What is Net neutrality?
Quote:

Net neutrality is the principle that individuals should be free to access all content and applications equally, regardless of the source, without Internet Service Providers discriminating against specific online services or websites. In other words, it is the principle that the company that connects you to the internet does not get to control what you do on the internet.

[#] So, whats happening?

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

Although leaving the EU means we leave a governing body that protects a lot of a person's internet rights (among other things), the UK probably aren't in danger of not having net neutrality. Our broadband market is competitive enough to protect against it (hopefully).

Regarding the topic itself, repealing net neutrality laws would be a terrible move. But then, isn't that what America does? Takes fundamental rights, or blossoming ones, and monetises them i.e. healthcare, education. Not surprising that they're trying to do the same with the internet.

"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."
