Has anyone here invested in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency?

How does Bitcoin even work? Every time I try to look it up it's so weird. Can someone explain what the point of buying things with Bitcoin is?

Nope.

Bitcoin is just a digital currency, bruh. If you are asking the difference between 'traditional currency' and Bitcoins, well then, Bitcoins mainly differ from the the traditional currency in that they are decentralized. In short, what this means is that there is no 'middlemen' or a 'bank' between the seller and the buyer for a Bitcoin network or basically a peer-to-peer (P2P) network.

Which indicates you don't have enough base knowledge to get into it. So, Level up bruh. Just like you would in a RPG game.

Since, Bitcoins are decentralized and have no central authority or middlemen, which means,

1. International payments are easy and cheap because bitcoins are not tied to any country or subject to regulation.
2. Small businesses may like them because there are no credit card fees.
3. Some people just buy bitcoins as an investment, hoping that they'll go up in value.
4. Can be used to Trade for traditional money.
5. Bitcoin Mining to make more Bitcoins.

I suggest you go to the official Bitcoin site and read up.

I mean, couldn't you say that about anything that does well?

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I don't really trust it personally since it has nothing to fall back on, like how a country has a treasury. Heaps of gold and artifacts and all that.

Bitcoin is just data, data that could reasonably be stolen or wiped out. Dunno if that's something that happens currently but it's bound to happen in future.

I'm sure in like 50 years we'll all have digital based money anyway, perhaps even Bitcoin but I wouldn't take the chance with it currently.

Flashy Thing!

With so many data breeches and reports of federal employees stealing bitcoins, I just don't trust the currency at the moment. If it can establish itself over a long period of time (10-20 years or so) then maybe I'll consider using it...if at that point I see any value in using it.
