Metal Gear Solid VI Ideas

滅Are you frightened?

I detest what Metal Gear Survive is and want to share a few ideas of what a true sequel could be.

Story: Should take place a year or two later after Revengeance. Raiden is requested by Boris of Maverick to carry out a top list PMC contract to help maintain a high ranking govern official (who's actually the main antagonist) in X country. Solid Snake is kidnapped during his time alone up in Alaska by the antagonist's armed forces to find a way to bypass Snake's inability to pass on his genes to throw future to build an army of Big Boss' clone based off both Armstrong's and Solidus' plans decades ago.

Characters: Solid Snake and Raiden are co-protaganists. Octacon, Mei Ling and Sunny will be Snake's eventual support. Boris, Courtney, and Kevin will be Raiden's eventual support. Cameos in the likes of Jetstream Sam, Meryl Silverburgh, Bladewolf, and Big Boss and a few others.

Gameplay: Solid Snake will feel similar to that of an improved version of MGSV: TPP's own. New mechanics includes: being able to steal other NPC's attires/military wear to help him advance through the game, being able to dual wield two-side arms controlled weapons, and via his new sneaking suit - he'll be able to wield most Cyborg related weapons and items. Raiden's will be a hunter/stealth gameplay element but will keep the "Zan Datsu" mechanics from Revengeance. He will have the option of intimidating his enemies via dissecting his enemies to gain hidden information. Overall, his gameplay be more on the action side also.

Thoughts? And what are you guys down ideas?

My first thought is this. Wasn't Solid Snake dead by the time of Revengance? It was implied by Raiden's talks in the codec, at minimum he's way too old for this stuff by now, and I think I'd rather a new character take up the reins than Solid Snake or Raiden, the former of whom is probably too weak for this kind of thing at this point (even in 4 he was clearly past his prime, suit or no suit), the latter of whom has no reason not to just rip through everyone with a sword, and I don't really see a good way to justify Raiden not just running through everyone without it being overly punishing.

A new character could do a lot better for a hypothetical MGS game without stretching the story or just being too powerful for stealth. That said, it's clear MGS is more or less done, Konami is using them for pachinko, and Kojima is already working on new stuff, to be honest I consider the series more or less done with 4 and Revengence, though 5 has good gameplay.

I like the ideas listed here, and I agree going with a sequel to Revengance is the best route to take the series next. Although V had some serious flaws, I hope the Fox engine gets some more use in the series.

He was implied but as Snake left Octacon and Sunny, he pretty much lost contact with him, so there's a possibility that he's alive. True Snake is old but we could easily have his stats increased from his tests in the facility before he escapes. Raiden can be called back as Maverick's ace agent though and he and Boris go way back so I'm sure that can play a part. I guess they can successfully clone him but we shouldn't be able to use him till like MGSVII.

Thanks Gothic.

I think Otacon could potentially find a cure for Snake's rapid aging. It is possible Konami could bring him back, but I doubt Hayter would reprise his role after the less than amicable split between Konami and Kojima. In this case I wouldn't be interested.

I feel like the franchise is dry at this point, the only remotely interesting character is Raiden. I think the only possible franchise we could get is from Revengance.

Though, I'd like to see a 3D remake of Metal Gear 1 & 2 + Snake's Revenge. That'd be awesome, actually. Wouldn't even need to be voice acted.

It's not dead yet but Survive just pisses me off. They could've made something more meaningful. Who the hell wants to fight crystalize zombies in Metal Gear? Like what the f***.

I rather they legit try, I don't give a damn about Survive at all. It's not a true Metal Gear game. Revengeance kept the storytelling and characteristics of Raiden. Nobody wants a no named character to use to fight zombies in a military espionage game.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Yeah we're not going to get a VI that's even remotely worth it, that game has no chance. Unless it looks utterly exceptional the fanbase would destroy it.
Konami is slowly destroying itself anyway, hopefully someone can buy the rights to MGS maybe they'll get desperate and sell them.

Anyway, was Revengeance even canon? Personally I didn't like anything about it other than the combat, it was all a bit over the top for MGS for me. It had none of the tact of the MGS games it was, as tired as the saying is, like Michael Bay took over.

For me I'd definitely like a new main character, perhaps trained by the dying Solid Snake.
Not sure who, obviously not a child of his since he can't procreate. Preferably not someone 100% new, maybe someone in relation to Olga? That could be cool, she was really skilled so makes sense her family would be too.
I'd like to be seeing some more cyborg ninja stuff but more toned down, something that enhances your combat prowess but doesn't let you fight Metal Gears casually, bit silly really.

Story wise not sure what I'd want, perhaps this new main character could be trained to make something like The Patriots but a force of good that seeks to end war without being corrupted or resorting to super extreme stuff.
But obviously Metal Gear happens and has to be stopped.
It would be cool if the first act or so was you hunting down certain people, these people being bosses. But instead of taking them down because they're bad, you actually recruit them.
That'd be an interesting take, because fighting them would be training the main character up but at the same time builds this special force.
More interesting than everyone being a bad guy.

Anyway I doubt VI will happen really, Konami is kinda crumbling at this point.
They treat their employees like garbage and obviously their reputation in the gaming world is so far in the negative it's nearing absolute zero. Frankly I'm surprised they're still around.

Their only chance is if Death Stranding is terrible and people think that maybe a lot of the high points of MGS was them rather than Kojima.
