Scale Freeza's final form up from that, and put current Base Goku considerably above final form Freeza. He should have no trouble stomping even Super Vegetto from Z.

The whole ROF arc sort of made everything complicated, with 1st form Freeza owning SSJ Gohan, and then Base Goku is even with Final Form Freeza. That would be fine and all, but then the Champa arc happens, Goku needs to go SSJ vs Final Form Frost, and Piccolo manages to dodge and have that tier of character dead to rights with an amped Makankosappo. Really makes no sense. The only thing that I can think of is that they were using Saiyan above God amp for base in ROF, then retconned it after. I have ROF Base Goku clearing Z, anything after is Perfect Cell-Super Perfect Cell tier, at best. Edited by Mike XL, Nov 21 2017, 08:09 PM.

So those arcs can't be discounted as not being canon.

I'm not saying they should be discounted entirely, but interpreted differently to align with what's currently happening. That's clearly what Toriyama's done in my view.
