Happy Halloween, everyone.

Let us all remember that day in 1978, where the always endearing slasher genre jumped to the mainstream thanks to one of the many masters of horror, John Carpenter. Like the previously mentioned Alien series, and most slasher series, this one has its ups and downs, but the original is not alone as far as good Halloween movies go.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

H1 - Original. Nothing better.
H4 - A return to form, of sorts. The only thing that felt odd was Michael being uber stronger now.
H2 - Good, but not as scary as the original, and the hospital setting was slightly unbelievable.
H20 - Very enjoyable, but because of the time it came out and the production, it felt more like a Scream-ified entry rather than a true celebration of the series.
H5 - Eh, this wasn't great, but it wasn't awful. I can sit and watch it. Tina is hot as f*** too. Still kinda is.
H3 - On its own, solid entry.
H6 - This one just gets boring whenever Michael isn't around.
H8 - If the film ended with the first kill, I would rank this so much higher, but it kept going and the rest of it was dog s***.
HZ1 & HZ2 - I don't really acknowledge these. They're f***ing awful embarrassments.

Oh really, H4 over H2 and H20? Interesting.

I definetely agree on the placement of the last three movies.

Halloween 2 felt underwhelming. It still had a tense atmosphere, but something was different about Michael. He had a purpose, and it made him less scary. The whole story of him chasing Laurie around the hospital wasn't as interesting as the more open-world of the first one.

John Carpenter's Halloween

John Carpenter's Halloween 2 (a very distant second)

f*** the rest, especially Zombieween 1 and 2. But they're all garbage after the second film (which was just mediocre)
