I'm looking for a good violent/action anime to watch and wondering what ya'll would recommend? The people of dbzf happen to have good taste so I feel good coming to the forum about this.

I' ve just finished Helling Unimate and i think it's a masterpiece. Great animation, no lack of violence but a good story as well and some emo-moments.

I would recommend it. It's only 10 episodes but they are 40-60 minutes long each.

Inuyashiki is pretty awesome, so far it's not much of an action series but it has violence.

The opening looks like there will be action a plenty, still building up to it.

And by violence I'm talking the villain just casually shooting people in the head in the middle of the day, treating life as a game. Very dark.

It's not new but there's also Akame Ga Kill Anime and manga.
Gory stuff, lots of characters, very high mortality rate, cool powers. Nuff said.

Another decent manga(though I haven't read it for a long a*** time so I can't vouch for how good it is presently)
Tenku Shimpan
It's pretty cool, it's one of those "survival game" type things.

People wake up in this city in blocked off buildings with only bridges connecting them, meaning they can't get down to the ground.
And there are these people with creepy masks that give them various abilities hunting them down, as well as weapons and such throughout each building.

Another one I started but haven't went back to in a while, Fire Punch

Pretty crazy. It's set in a future world which IIRC was either after some apocalypse or just an endless winter has happened.
For whatever reason some people are "Gifted" with odd abilities.
The main guy has high speed regeneration, to the point where he feeds his village by cutting his limbs off because they grow back in seconds.
And then he meets a guy who's Gift is based on fire which never goes out until it kills people...

So basically the MC gets set on fire and he stays on fire FOREVER because his regen is so fast it won't kill him.
Somehow after years of being on fire he's hella jacked and naturally, is on a revenge mission. Some would say being burned alive for years might be painful.

It gets really f***ing weird for a while but I heard it improves, there's a character that appears who while cool sorta derails the story for a time.

Definitely taking your word for it! I'm excited to check out Fire Punch, thank you for providing such detailed info about each anime/manga.

No probs.

It's a really odd one lol, not sure how much action there is overall I only got like...maybe 23 chapters in to it so there was only one big fight and build up sort of stuff otherwise, it's framed like a Shounen anyways.
