I don't see any changes besides his skin color.

Also, apparently they forgot Kronans aren't living rocks, but beings with organs and all that jazz. They don't do any research for these movies do they?
Yeah, that's pretty spot on so far as I can tell. As for the organs, I would bet they wanted to avoid guts at all costs.

The MCU is weird when it comes to violence. Didn't they chop someone's head off in Doctor Strange?

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

I don't remember. I always harken back to Captain America: The First Avenger, where we saw lasers being used in WW2 because Marvel didn't want to use actual bullets lol.

Sole reason I wanted to watch this was Hulk. The moment I came across Hulk isnt being badass (dat too with the garbage hype they gave with his 3 part backstory), I'm gonna rewatch Incredible Hulk & wait for Justice League

I think most critics of this movie is against the comedy. They want it to be a comedic-less action film more like the two other Thor movies.

Reviews are giving it lots of praise, especially the comedy.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Everything I hear about it makes it sound like a run of the mill MCU movie, comedy, a villain with basically no characterization, more comedy, pretty regular plot.

Why do the villains almost always suck so bad?

How many people go to these movies to see comedy versus action.

It's like they saw the success of GoG and then how much people liked those Thor skits and decided to mash the two together in order to make Thor interesting, when really people liked the skits because they were a parody of his character...

It's like if DBS suddenly turned into DBZA.

Granted, that would be an improvement, but still, that's not what the people want.

Also, I'm not sure if the actual Ragnarök event happens in this movie (if it doesn't I wouldn't be surprised), but I'd like to add that a jovial tone is not fitting for what is essentially a universal APOCALYPSE.

Pfft just one universe bro, there are multi-verses. Keep it chill and fun!

This Thanos guy probably just needs to have a beer with the bro's, he's not scary, let's make him a fun character! Don't forget the 80's music that definitely fits in every series and wasn't just cool to go with GoG.

Thor: Ragnarök has 80s music?

You know, I do wonder where the hell that came from, because I do NOT remember any 80s references in any GotG comic I've read, unless that's something from some other character that they stole from, I wouldn't be surprised.

Oh I don't actually know but they did go for a whole retro thing, as you see with the title card thing. Wouldn't surprise me anyway.

I think it works great with GoG, the whole juxtaposition thing. And it's cool how the music is neatly tied in with Starlord's since it's the playlist his mother gave him.

I see the point in that and the value to making GoG comedy centric...but not Thor.

Why not take a ridiculous character and make him cool. You can make wisecracks but still take things seriously.

I mean GotG didn't start off with comedy, they just added it in with the new members in the early 2000s reboot, which changed a lot of characters for unexplained reasons, Groot being the most surprising as he was originally a villain.

I guess they amped the comedy so that it would feel even more different than the Avengers? I don't really get it that much.

Lol Darker 90% of people don't know that. Gotta keep it a secret.

Thor in the animated series has a majestic, dignified & regal air of authority around him which along with great lines make him a distinct "higher being" Avenger

Which was NOT the vibe I got from MCU Thor trilogy. Chris Hermsworth has 1 job. To act. Which he falters. Look at Chris Evans. Or RDJ. Hell, even Benedict Cumberbatch in his single outing as Dr. Strange was so convincing in his portrayal.

While Chris gives some street punk with blond hair strolling with his hammer vibe. Now mix it with GOTG2 slapstick comedy. Ludicrousity dialled up to eleven

So far, Ultron has been the best MCU villain. I'd place him on par to Joker (DK). I'm already starting to dislike Thanos (thx to his ridiculous HAX) & strangely odd character design (kinda like Broly & Hatchiyack's love child).

Not sure what to make out of part of that post, but which animated Thor are you talking about? He's been in a lot of cartoons, though I imagine you mean this one.

Valkyrie is apparently in the movie... ugh
