Zilla's movie thread was pretty well recieved and got more posts than I expected, but what about Zilla Jr's awesome cartoon?

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Indeed it was awesome. I got nostalgia giggles watching that intro. The animated series really highlighted all the personality Emmerich's Godzilla movie had going for it. Just the right amount of weirdness and action.

More like the show eliminated all the movie's flaws, added a few great bits which you'd expect from this team (which also worked on Extreme Ghostbusters and the Men in Black cartoon), gave the characters and monsters more personality and better designs (Zilla Jr is capable of showing emotion this time), jabs on the movie a few times and also gives the fans what they wanted, a powerful Godzilla with an atomic breath that fights monsters pretty much every week.

Only difference being that this Godzilla is adorable.

The show's plot is in many ways similar to the Hanna-Barbera one from the 70s, though this show is undoubtedly better.

It did leave out some of the movies flaws, but I also think it carried over the quirkiness and vibe that the movie had going for it, too.

And now that you mention it's done by the MIB and Ghostbusters team, I can absolutely see that coming through in the animation, especially the MIB.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

I haven't seen this, but thought I'd post because my initial reaction was 'oh s***, new Godzilla TV show? that's cool' and now I'm a little disappointed.

Thala na Gethu!

Darn, its such a great intro & yeah! It has strong vibe of Roland Emmerich's Godzilla film which once again solidifies my opinion that its the closest-to-best Godzilla film we'll ever get

Sure, we got the improvised Shin Godzilla which frankly made me gasp at times, but overall lacks the charm & magnitude one associates with monster films

Given how both 2014's Godzilla & recent Kong (2017) received luke-warm response at BO, I'd say the upcoming Kong vs Zilla (2020) to be same. Unless Spielberg/Nolan/Cameroon directs the film, something that'll never happen

As for the cartoon series, yeah man. You can have monster-of-the-week routine for 25 minutes, but how about 2:30 hours film? I think cramming too many monsters in 1 film would lead to more inconsistency

Say that to Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla: Final Wars.

Too many monsters is never a bad thing.
