Lying To Yourself; Have you gotten over anime/manga?

I may not deserve to live, but I will protect those in my reach with my reverse blade!

Anime/Manga is one of the greatest things I've been part of (audience wise) in my life and I always used to laugh at the notion that eventually I would stop watching and reading. Unfortunately, that has become the reality though (despite immediately rejecting the notion when I thought of it).

We have a new IT guy at work and he came in with a Pokemon hat on the other day and his cell phone had the Fairy Tale theme song when someone texted him. He was around my age or perhaps older. Sort of reminded me of myself a while back.

I never really got into anything after Naruto manga ended and I even drifted toward the end of that.

Similar experiences anyone and if so how did you get back into it?

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

...kind of with manga.

I'm nowhere near as much of an manga fan as I am anime, the voice acting and music do it for me too much.

After Naruto I was just kinda "Well...okay then"

Eventually I got in to One Piece but then after a while that just became habit, I still enjoy it but...not on a hype scale.

So it was really just One Piece and nothing else for a while.

Then I got in to Toriko after watching a video on it and seeing that there was so much crazy s*** going on, after that I finally tried Berserk and loved it.

I think all it really takes is that one spark in a cool series to bring you right back in to it, dependent on what you're in to obviously.
I was in need of a spectacle after Naruto got to the point of just kind of annoying me with it's pacing and story progression, Toriko filled that need beautifully.

From then on I've tried a lot more manga and on-and-off read most of them.

Manga is harder to get in to I find since all the good ones get anime anyway and they're almost always better unless it's the next HYPE weekly generic shounen thing.

Take a chance and read/watch something a bit "out there" you might love it.

I go through phases. Sometimes I don't care that much and then I'll come across something interesting and get back into it

If you ask me I think it's probably because there aren't that many good series. I used to be really into finding a good anime or manga but I don't try as hard anymore because it's like finding a diamond in the rough and as soon as I realized that my interest in anime and manga went down a bit

One punch man needs to come back already because other than that show and dragon ball there aren't any other series that entertain me the same way

I think the best way to get back into it is to go on some manga/anime websites and browse around until you see something that looks interesting

Yo

I think it helps if you have a couple friends you can geek out with over a new manga one of you find. 99% of my friends would never read manga or watch anime, but there are a couple of guys I know from way and we always swap suggestions for manga or comics. Keeps me interested in manga.

Only problem is one of them is really into Harem comedies, really into it

My hobbies go through cycles. For one month I could be super into manga, then it could be books or video games. Sometimes I'm not really feeling any of those things and just watch TV or movies in my free time.

With anime though, I feel I've definitely phased out of it for the most part. It's hard for me to sit down and watch an anime anymore because I find the voice acting (regardless of the dub/sub), music, etc. to be cheesy. I didn't used to feel that way at all, so it's a big change. It's also hard for me to go back to anime when I've been reading manga extensively over the past several years.

Right now I'm on a video game kick. Last week I was on a book kick. Next week I'll probably be on something else. That's just how I operate, I guess.
