It truly was a Shawshank redemption

I thought this'd be a nice topic to have opposite the greatest of all time since no Premiership players are in that conversation. You can extend it to the top league in general, if you want to reach back into the pre-Premiership era.

Thierry Henry would get my vote. He was phenomenal.

Alan Shearer. 260 goals.

I can see Harry Kane beating him though.

I'm probably (definitely) biased, but I would say Bobby Moore. Hands down I would say he was one of the most influential footballers in the world, and the back four became popular in England pretty much because of how he redefined the centre back role. But of course he outdates the premier league by quite a bit.

I do agree with Pelador on Alan Shearer however, I would cast a vote to one Paolo Dicanio. Almost certainly the best West Ham premier league player.

I would like to present exhibit A, THAT volley against Wimbledon

Yo

Going by premiership only, Henry would definitely be up there. An absolutely phenomenal player, one of those players that everyone loves to watch.

Shearer was brilliant, I watched a compilation of all his goals recently, his ability to hit the ball with such power and precision was brilliant and I see a similarity to the way he strikes the ball with Harry Kane.

Giggs has the trophies and longevity to be considered, but he wouldn't be my choice.

Ronaldo had a few great seasons, and if the criteria dismissed longevity and just looked at the highest peak, his 07-08 season was very special.

What about David De Gea?
Not yet. If he stays in the Premier League his entire career he'll be right up there.
