What would you do with Superman's powers?

I remember when I was younger I wanted to be the charming and helpful Superman from the Fleischer shorts and Christopher Reeves' movies.

Now everyone wants to be the edgy Injustice Superman. Shame.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

No one wants to be the charming and helpful superman where people are pleasantly fooled the second you put a pair of glasses on your face that you're Clark Kent. It's not realistic.
That's what separates edgy Supes from the charming and helpful Supes. The edgy one is more based on pure human thought. Not whimsical mishaps where everyone wants to be a mild-mannered reporter.

I don't see your point. Superman isn't meant to be realistic, duh. And we shouldn't base this scenario on realism either, that's beyond stupid.

The edgy Superman from Injustice is a megalomaniac who literally kills everyone that dares disobey one of his orders. Would you REALLY be like
that? Clearly not, the Injusticeverse Superman is a psychopath who has nowhere near the same moral fiber nor willpower as the OG Superman.

I mean, seriously, the whole glasses deal is retarded. It's part of the comic book charm and I don't get why so many people do this with Superman when pretty much every superhero has this problem. Next to zero heroes try to hide their true voices behind their masks, sometimes they don't even behave differently. At least Superman and Clark Kent have a clear personality and behaviour difference. This was discussed recently in another site, how Clark Kent's acting as not being Superman is good enough that even Lex Luthor would find it absurd if it was him. Heck he fired the guy who proposed such an idea, and that's because he knows Kent, and because Superman is good at faking other identities. Part of being a superpowered alien, yo.

I'd frankly abuse my power in the name of good, even if that means having to become a symbol of evil to do so. It would be similar to Kira from Death Note, where so much fear and pressure is put on the people that they don't want to screw up. Of course fear alone isn't enough to change anything so I want to make sure to enact other plans to progress the world.

It's basically the same thing Rockman said.

I'd be the guy to go to North Korea and say...

"Listen, let me help you with your country and your people and actually make it a reasonable place. But the only real "god" here is me and if you don't start treating your country and people with respect, I'm going to handle it and fry your dictator brains with my heat vision."

Or I'd go to Gun Control and say.

"Hey! Let's see if we can get a compromise where we can have proper regulation and control without having to completely take your rights away. You get to keep some of your guns while simultaneously making for safer protocol...and if that's not good enough for you, I will melt all your guns and shove the 2nd Amendment up your a***."

I'd want to be a fair god, but this is not a democracy. In the words of Judge Dredd.

"I am the law."
Pretty much this.

How fun would it be to be weird with it too? Do weird Jojo poses and stuff, who's going to stop you and who'd dare mock you...

I'd love to go up to Kim Jong Un and if he disagreed with what I wanted "Omae wa mo...shindeiru"
Hopefully I'd be fast enough to make his head explode without anyone noticing.

I see no value to being totally stern and evil about it, just when people don't do as their told.

Humans are s***ty, everyone knows how the world should work but nobody has the power to make it so.

Anyone who states that they would take justice in any form against anyone as Superman can be considered a megalomaniac though. It's still a form of imposed justice.

I would definitely shut down as many big drug dealing organizations as I can

I would destroy North Korea's army and Isis's resources

I would push the brutal animal agriculture slow down their production, in turn helping the situation with global warming and obesity and other health problems

I would deal with the corruption in the pharmaceutical industry

I wouldn't touch politics. It's not my place. Farthest I'll go is deal with wars

Oh my lord... Lemme bless your comic book knowledge with this video. Cause Superman wearing glasses and changing his personality is actually the best disguise in comics. Watch the video please. Anyone with a high IQ can tell Batman is Bruce Wayne. Tim drake was a kid and found out.

Actually all you've done is point out how Pre-Crisis Superman was way more OP than modern Supes, and he could literally do anything within the bounds of the imaginations of the time period that he was written. I know you know this, but they actually had to consolidate and dumb down the amount of things that Superman could do over his history.

Besides. Edgy Injustice Superman isn't a mild mannered reporter who can change his personality or hypnotize people. You're just bringing to the point that Superman actually has Dissociative identity disorder.
