My Dear Melancholy,

A deleted scene from the upcoming home video release of Homecoming has emerged online. In what appears to be an alternate post-credits scene, we see Davis still webbed to his car after his run-in with Spider-Man earlier in the film. He struggles to escape and eventually rings his nephew to say he won’t make it to see him, calling the kid Miles.

In the Ultimate Marvel Universe, Miles was a regular teenager given powers by a radioactive spider replicated from Peter Parker’s blood and stolen by his uncle. After the death of Parker, he took up the Spider-Man mantle proper, and due to his immense popularity with readers eventually became a part of the main 616-universe. At present, he is New York’s main Spider-Man, with a living Peter taking on global duties.

Morales coming over the MCU is thus a major deal. Of course, the reveal in this deleted scene was heavily alluded to in the movie itself and taken as fact by many, but hearing Davis actually say Miles means a lot. Indeed, it’s a big shame this scene was cut – presumably it was replaced by the Captain America PSA, which while admittedly was funnier has less far-reaching impact.

With Glover’s role setting up Miles’ origin and it clear the filmmakers want him to have a presence, the question now becomes whether he’ll make an appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2. That would seem plausible given it’s the current end-point of the publicly discussed Peter Parker MCU arc and Tom Holland himself has discussed mentoring a new actor, although considering Miles’ origins obviously poses its own, deadly issues.

I'm not a huge Miles Morales fan but IG it'll be something new.

This was confirmed by Feige back in July I think. Only difference between the theatrical version and the deleted scene is that Miles isn't mentioned by name (he's just referred to as his nephew)

I've never understood this character's popularity. There's nothing special about him other that he can sting.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

My Dear Melancholy,

He's black (and Hispanic). Which is kinda contradicting since people bash Marvel's force diversity. But I've seen people like that he's a teenager like how spiderman was originally. Which again is contradicting since Peter Parker wasn't a teenager in comics for that long he was mostly in college but it's been rewritten history that Peter Parker's first few years were filled with teenage adventures.

You sure when people say originally they aren't referring to Ultimage Spider-Man peter Parker?

Marvel themselves have rewritten history and thus people think The AMAZING Spiderman was a teenaged adventure. You see MCU interviews where they bring up Peter Parker's teenaged stories? Marvel "brainwashed" their audience to think that Spiderman was always this highschool adventure. But it was mostly college-early adulthood.

But if they mimic ultimate Spiderman that would be splendid. Which they seem to be.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I am...not a fan.

While the two Spider-Men/Man's(?) on screen sounds cool on paper what would actually happen is Miles would also be a quirky funny guy and it'd be the same annoying character twice.

I kinda doubt they'd ever have Peter become more mature for instance, maybe a bit but Miles would be goofy as well because that's all the MCU seems to do.

No way would they have the balls to kill off Peter either.

Unless there's some weird stipulation in this Sony deal that makes Miles fair game and they want Peter gone as fast as possible so they can use Miles freely.

Or they could introduce Miles then quickly kill him off.
