Say you have those anti-vaxxer parents who don't vaccinate their children. Should their kids be allowed in schools around hundreds of others? |

The answer is simply no and some schools will refuse to allow children who have not been properly vaccinated to attend. I remember long ago that my Elementary/Middle School was like this. You had to get these vaccinations. I think the last sentence of your post really just says it all. Should these children, who have not been vaccinated from different diseases, be allowed to hang around hundreds of children? And it's like...of course not. A lack of vaccination just means causing harm not only to the child in question but the potential harm in others as well. |

We got vaccinated in school, I think. I don't really see the issue until it's time for the vaccine. |

Explain this for me... Are all babies vaccinated upon birth or close after? At least for those parents who want their baby vaccinated. Also, are there really that many diseases going around that vaccines are absolutely necessary? |

Yes and yes. Vaccines are absolutely necessary despite what pseudo-science tells you. |

No, there aren't that many diseases going around at the moment....because most people are vaccinated. It's easy for people to think 'oh, but I haven't contracted these diseases, and I don't know anybody who has, so is it really that big of an issue?' because we live in a vaccinated world. You only have to look at the increased numbers of recorded cases of diseases that we vaccinate for, e.g. measles, in recent years to see how important it is to keep the population vaccinated. To answer the topic question, no they shouldn't. Vaccines should be mandatory too. Unless you live in a literal bubble that prohibits contact with any other human being, then you can do what you want. |

Definite no. It's a shame for the kids, it's not their fault they have stupid parents but that's no reason to put the others in danger. We all live in society to enjoy the benefits that it brings and that should include relative safety from harm, including disease of course. If people aren't going to follow the rules they don't deserve to be a part of it. Frankly as far as I'm concerned if you don't vaccinate your kids you should no longer be allowed to have them. I'm not sure why that isn't enforced yet. I'm sure it might be in like 20 years when we see the results of this s***ty movement, given that a lot of the kids will be dead or generally in ill health because their parents would rather believe in conspiracy theories than keep their kids safe. "1 in every 2000 people vaccinated get ill from it, that means it didn't work for the other 1999 people!" |

Wait, what exactly is the danger to the kids that ARE vaccinated? I mean, you're vaccinated, so you're immune, doesn't matter if the anti-vaxxer kid gets it, it won't be a problem for you right? Or did I not pay attention in biology class? |

Measles and whooping cough are both currently on the rise because parents aren't vaccinating their children. To answer your question as to how and why unvaccinated children can still get sick, it's best to turn to sources other than me since I'm not a scientist.
