What were you doing when 911 happened? I was in a taxi on the way home from school. Got home and saw the twin towers on fire on tv.

Around this time I stopped reading comics on a regular basis and focused more on finding and perfecting my artstyle, while studying art in general.

Yeah, iirc I was in school. I remember coming home and my mum was watching the news.

I was four years old, watching Oprah with my Mom when we suddenly got an alert on the TV about what was happening. I didn't understand what I was seeing since you know, I was 4, but my Mom was shocked.

I'm pretty sure I was home alone that day entertaining myself with whatever activity I was into at the time. I probably decided to turn on the TV at some point for some cartoons and that's when I watched the news for the first time. I remember on an initial impact feeling somewhat confused not knowing for sure whether or not those images were real. It's absolutely surreal travelling so far back into my childhood memories to a point where I'm not even familiar with the concept of evil yet and how humans are capable of doing horrific things to each other... Ha, blissful innocence...

Can't believe it's been 16 years already since 9/11. A day that's changed the world forever. RIP to all the victims who lost their lives on that day and all the families that have had to somehow push through and cope with the tragic losses. I hope these 16 years have restored some peace back into their lives.

As many people have stated, I was in school. All classrooms had TVs so when the word spread, teachers stopped class and let us watch the news.

I remember when the twin towers were hit. Ironically, I was in my 5th grade history class. I was 10 years old, and my history teacher got the info and turned on the news, and my class watched the towers get hit. Now, some people think 'oh what a bad teacher for allowing kids to see that' but honestly, I am so glad she did. We were watching history unfold before our eyes. None of us cried, none of us couldn't take it. We just watched, knowing it was something significant. She knew we were mature enough to handle it, and we did. I'll never forget sitting in my desk and seeing it happen.

I still find it a bit weird that your teachers would show you something that brutal.

I mean, Kids definitely have at some point acknowledge how cruel Reality can be and that it isn't only sunshine and rainbows.

If I was a teacher at the time, I would have done the same. They might not understand it now but they will definitely do later.

I can understand at 10 years old but anything below that seems a bit odd.

Honestly, even 10 years old seems a bit odd. Something that horrific, from what I've heard the teachers weren't allowed at all to tell students about it.
