Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Pro Fetus is an interesting term I've seen lately and the concept raises some good points against the whole "Pro Life" thing.

I can see some merits to being Pro Life in general...but for most people it seems to stop at birth.

Why is that?
I'd consider that the fatal flaw with it all.
There's all this fighting over how a woman should have a child but the moment she does everyone disappears, virtually no support what so ever.
If she doesn't have a job or a partner with one she's just a deadbeat loser and probably shouldn't have got pregnant by accident, now she's wasting your tax dollars on welfare and a stupid, useless baby.
Why isn't she 100% committed and able to look after the child she deemed herself not 100% committed and able to look after?

It never seems to be taken in to account what kind of life the child might have once they're born, quality of life doesn't seem to matter as much as just being alive and I don't get that at all.

Not that all Pro Lifers are exactly the same but generally it seems that Pro Fetus is a more accurate name.

I honestly don't think there should be any laws against any of these options.

I use the word 'situational' a lot when it comes to issues like these, but that's exactly what it is. It all depends on what is best for a person in that situation, who are we to judge? We're not them.

Yeah I don't get why anyone should be forced to have a child, there is no solution. "Put it up for adoption" doesn't solve anything it's just giving the child a crappy start in life and even if they do get adopted in good time there's so many horrible people out there who adopt kids and treat them like crap.

Is it really worth it?

I don't think anyone should claim to be Pro Life unless they would also adopt without a second thought, wanting people to be forced to have children while also never wanting a child that isn't your own is a completely unfair standpoint.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

The people you're talking about don't really care about anything past their own beliefs. Once the baby is born, they can just wash their hands of the situation because they got what they wanted. Like you said, there are definitely people who would be anti-abortion and then also anti-'people relying on state support', without putting enough intelligent thought to realise one can impact the other.

They aren't alone though. It's something many people suffer from; tunnel vision in regards to having the world the way they want it to be.

"Next time?"
"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."
