Base Vegetto (Manga)

So, how exactly does this work? Base Vegetto appears to be stronger than Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, yet we're led to believe that Super Saiyan God is stronger than at least Super Vegetto from the Majin Boo arc. Last I checked Beerus arc Goku and Vegeta aren't a lot stronger than their Boo arc counterparts, so what gives? The only way this makes sense is if Super Saiyan God altered how Goku's power works, which is to say his base is a lot stronger, and the god multiplier is a lot smaller.

I thought his base being stronger was universally accepted by now...

Wasn't SSJ2 Vegeta keeping up with SSJ Black while Base Black stomped SSJ2 Trunks? Or am I remembering that wrong?

Yes, that happened.

No that's where you're wrong. Ssj1 goku in the beginning of the Super manga is at least as strong as buu saga ssj3 goku. Go look at his image training. He one shotted cell and goes after kid buu in ssj1

I'd wouldn't use image training as evidence that Super Saiyan Goku is stronger than Pure Boo.

That's image training. It's not an actual feat.

It does work though. Mental training is very important in dbz. Frieza literally mastered his golden form in his head. And even the manga during I think the namek saga gohan and krillin were sparring with each other via image training

Why wouldn't it work? He knows how strong all three of those guys are

Goku, who had been slacking on his training, now became stronger than Kid Boo in Super Saiyan? I don't buy it, and the short sequence in which this feat seemingly takes place isn't concrete enough for me to think that was the actual intention.

He hasn't been slacking on his training though. He's training during his breaks from work and was telling goten that you never know when a strong opponent like buu may show up so you always have to ready. He never stopped training he was just bored from work and not having any epic battles happening

He started slacking on his training after the goku black saga and that's it

It is important, but nothing suggests image training accurately portrays the strength of the characters being imagined. Even if it did, Goku charges Beerus as a Super Saiyan, despite being told he's far stronger than anyone he's ever faced. You know how Goku is, he likes to pace himself, and we never see him actually engage Boo because Goten interrupts his training.

Nothing suggests it's any different though. Why would it be any different?

Goku's never fought beerus before and his shock throughout his fight with beerus on King Kais planet tells me he took King Kai's word with a grain of salt. He likes to feel out his opponents. The first time he fought kid buu he went straight to ssj3. Now he's going ssj1 only

He was still slacking off, though. Training between breaks isn't the same as training like he did in Otherworld or for the androids. He wished he could train on Kaio's or some place that would actually give him something to work with. I think it's pretty safe to say he at least wasn't training at the same intensity as before.

Who said he was slacking off? He may not have been training as hard as other times but he was still training

I guess I would say his ssj form being equal to buu saga ssjr is a little far fetched but I think surpassing his ssj2 is believable especially since we didn't get to see him actually fight buu

And of course physically training is going to be more effective but we can't say mental training doesn't have a big impact too. One out of three components of ki is mental

滅Are you frightened?

It's possible the image training didn't mean that's how strong he is, but I tended to keep him relatively close to where his Buu saga power was. But that doesn't mean, he couldn't feel comfortable fighting them at Super Saiyan. Projecting a false outcome isn't how you ready yourself for beings possibly even stronger than Buu.
