Plymouth off to a bad start with a 2-1 defeat at Peterborough.

Arsenal were abysmal. Like, really bad. They didn't even look like they were trying, which is never a good sign in terms of belief in the manager. He should have been replaced in the summer when the incoming manager would have a full offseason, rather than being thrown in after the season has started.

Great result and performance by Liverpool though, even if they were aided by Arsenal's lack of one. We look so deadly on the counter and it's nice to have a clean sheet after all the negative (some warranted) press surrounding our defence.

The two most impressive teams so far (of the top teams) are Man Utd and Liverpool. Imagine a fight to the end between those two teams... Just like old days!

I wrote another post for my Liverpool blog. I'd appreciate anyone who took the time to read it and would welcome feedback: https://crowdgobananas.blogspot.co.uk/2017/09/taking-stock-of-season-so-far.html

I really enjoyed the post, it's clear that you have a very polished writing technique, coupled with the fact that you also know your football it makes for some really fun and insightful reading.

My one and only criticism is that you've labelled Keita a winger, and that'll he be in competition with Salah and Mane. From what I know of him, he's more of a box to box central midfielder, who can play further forward. At Liverpool I expect that he will be playing in midfield.

Oh, my bad. I don't know too much about him (clearly :P). I was sure I saw him as a winger in a Leipzig starting eleven. But thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it. I'll rectify that mistake.

I don't know much about him either, I've only seen him play a handful of times and that was mainly to watch Oliver Burke, so don't take my word for it mate

No, I just checked his Wikipedia page and he's described as a box-to-box midfielder.

I know we really need more than a point to save us from relegation but if we perform consistently like we did today against top of the league Shrewsbury then I think we can save ourselves.

Also, have to laugh at Chelsea.

Also City won 7-2. Coincidently the worst hand you can have in poker, let's hope it's a sign.

Inexcusable defensive display from Liverpool. Lovren and Mignolet can't be trusted anymore. They've both had moments under Klopp where they seemed to improve, but never long enough to go without mistakes for a lengthy stretch of games. Technically, they're both pretty decent (Mignolet especially is a great shot-stopper), it's just the mental side of the defensive game they haven't mastered, and they're both at an age now where if they haven't done so already, they never will. They aren't the only ones at fault, but they are the biggest problems. Replacing both of them with even average defenders who aren't a liability would at least keep us from needing to score 2 or 3 just to solidify a draw.

Had to happen. Really surprised at how poorly Everton have done after their summer. They seemed to invest their money in all the right places, but it's never as easy as judging it on paper. It'll be interesting to see if a different manager can get more from the squad.

Thank god for Martial. We needed that win to keep up with City who will undoubtedly win later today against WBA. Could've been 7 points difference, most likely only 5. At best it's 2 points.

Another 1-1 draw for Plymouth today but now we only need 4 points to get out of the relegation zone. I need to check Youtube tomorrow to see if we should have had a goal. I couldn't see if it crossed the line or not.

I think part of the problem was that they signed a fair few players with the same characteristics, Klassen, Rooney and Siggurdson all being fairly slow players who inhabit the 10 role. I think the injuries to Bolasie and Coleman have not helped as both would add some much needed pace to the side.

At this early moment in time, who does everyone think did the best transfer business in the summer?
