I like both zamasu and merged zamasu in the manga. Zamasu's character felt a bit more fleshed out to me because he seems to have more of an impact. We saw more cool scenes with him not just watching him regenerate all the time. Also I loved the scene where he gets angry at goku black when they are losing just before they fuse. I like merged zamasu in the manga more too because he felt much more threatening. He came off as so powerful and badass. And I loved the way he looked in his fight with vegito I like goku black in the anime more though. He's more sinister and maniacal I guess I would say. The manga goku black is more of just a brute. Not bad but I like the anime one more. I do appreciate how goku black is drawn in the manga though. When he turned ssjr for the first time he looked amazing. And also he doesn't look skinny like he does in the anime. There's more muscle on him if you look closely on a lot of the scenes in the manga Edited by Ssj3vegito96, Aug 5 2017, 08:15 AM.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, while flawed, Anime Black and Zamasu come off as far more interesting villains and characters unique personalities who truly act upon a desire to see the universe better off without mortals. They are often intelligent yet conniving. misguided but at the same time heartless in their approach. Even their merged form ends up becoming some metaphorical an literal monster, a contrast to the once wise, if again misguided Kaioshin.Black of course comes off as suave and intelligent, even during his own moments of weakness. Even when he's getting beaten by Vegeta, he never once loses his cool. Even Zamasu can end up keeping his cool far better than his manga counterpart. What we got in the manga though was an even bigger hypocrite for Zamasu and a Nappa-esque brute for Black that delivered none of the interest or charm that made either villain notable in the anime. Zamasu is the bitchiest, whiniest thing in the manga. Who is so insecure, just seeing Goku on a video is enough to set him off. At least anime Zamasu fought Goku. Manga Zamasu might as well got on God Twitter and wrote. "Fake mortal gets as strong as a god, Gonna kill all mortals. SAD #MakeGodsGreatAgain" Black meanwhile is another whiny child, brutish in nature with absolutely none of the charm of his anime counter part. He's just a child who screams and rants until he gets what he wants...not unlike Zamasu too in the mana. So when they fuse, what we get is not this proud God ultimately corrupted by his own ideologies and thoughts. What we get is Super Nappa. A even more abrasive and brutish villain, again with absolutely no charm or likability to him whatsoever. Edited by EMIYA, Aug 5 2017, 04:47 PM.

Initially as they fused in both series I'd say I'd favor more the manga version. His power was more in a normal way than the anime. Goku's full powered kamehameha made sense to blast through him in the manga seeing as how CSSB was enough to fight on par with him. But in the anime Merged Zamasu was able to fight somewhat with Vegito. Which really didn't make any sense. I'd say up to the point before Trunks slashes Zamasu I prefer the manga. But in all honesty the manga should have kept Trunks's Spirit Sword from the anime, because that was a way better ending then the Shadow Clone Jutsu crap we got instead in the manga. It was super annoying and it only dragged the saga on longer than it needed to be. The anime did a better job for the ending, while the manga did a better job for the fights he was involved in prior to being cut. |

I pretty much agree with EMIYA here, manga Black and Zamasu aren't nearly that interesting, losing their cool pretty easily and whinning about silly things. More or less like an anime vs manga Doflamingo, for whoever watched/read One Piece. Doflamingo in the manga is like Black in the anime, keeping his cool after getting punched, just with a sarcastic smile on his mouth and apparently not caring that much... while anime Doflamingo (manga Black) would constantly whiny when getting hit by Law or Luffy, with his veins popping up and that "I don't want to be hit, huaaaahhh" f***ed up attitude. But props for EMIYA, I can't explain this as good as he did. |
