I'm watching the second episode right now.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Will do! :)

I always love and hate dumb humans in anything, really. It's just how we are. Greed thinks over us and we take risks no matter how dangerous.

Aaand done. These guys just keep on getting creepier, and the acting keeps on getting better. It's like watching a series of movies and I love it.

I especially like Abraham.

Yayyy! Now hurry up and watch the entire thing so we can become official Strain buddies and comment on the latest episodes together!

My favorite character is the main guy. I know, I know, it's almost an unspoken rule that having the main guy as your fave character is considered forbidden, but he really is cool in my book and I love that despite having one of the more complex inner struggles because of his family, he still maintains a logical mindset and a practical sense for the most part. Another one of my faves is Dutch Velders -- she is SO badass. Not sure if she appears in the first 2 episodes, but just wait for her!

I'm not sure I'll be able to watch all these seasons. Each with 13 episodes and every episode being 45-1 hour long...

Really? We're not much alike in terms of series then, when I like a series I tend to get obsessed and watch everything compulsively. :p I crave serie marathons and rejoice whenever I find a new series that I love with a lot of seasons out.

Oh well. So much for finally finding my Strain buddy :'(

Who knows, maybe I'll get more hooked than expected?

But I really do prefer 22 minute long episodes over this sort of thing.

I'm guessing that's maybe because you're used to watching a lot of anime, perhaps? I think 40 minute episodes are pretty standard for tv series. Most series I watch are around that length anyway.

But yeah, keep watching, hopefully you'll find that you can't stop watching and need moaaarrr and MOARRRRRR. :p

Well, not exactly anime. Cartoons. Lotsa cartoons. Also lots of animated shorts. I love animation in general.

Edit: I'm a bit more hooked now. But after seeing one of these monsters kill a dog I don't like them that much anymore.

Edit 2: Yeah I'm definetely a lot more hooked now. But it's a bit disappointing how we don't exactly get to see how this "virus" spread. I haven't seen it happen, at least. Not yet anyway.

Edit 3: I'm at episode 8... Hot damn. Every episode throws something new at the last second just to keep you interested, ALWAYS with cliffhangers. Goddamnit Guillermo. WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO.

YASSSSS! I knew you'd come around to it!

I'm honestly so excited to hear this series was able to grab you! I imagine Ducth has already appeared by now -- how absolutely freakin' awesome is she?! She's savage! Absolutely fearless and determined. I love watching her!

I don't actually remember how Season 1 ends. I may have to read a little on it on wikipedia to refresh my memory so I know what I can and what I can't say about the series so that I don't spoil you.

Abraham and Fet are so far my favourites.

I liked the main three from the beginning (Jim, Ephraim, Nora), and it's a shame Jim had to go.

Already on the second season, and nearing the end (currently watching Episode 7).

Episode 4, "The Silver Angel" was really fun.

I wasn't expecting a Santiago Segura cameo.

Posted Image

For those who don't know Segura is another highly acclaimed spanish director (and actor), and a very good friend of Guillermo del Toro.

Posted Image

He's made many cameos in other projects of his, mostly dying in each because as stated in an interview, Guillermo loves to kill the s*** outta Santiago lol

Posted Image

But yeah a cameo in a TV show was a bit unexpected, but I loved it, as much as I loved the 30s style from that VHS tape. That brought a lot of nostalgic memories, not just because I grew up alongside the VHS and still love it but because I really love movies from the black and white era (done with pretty crappy spanish too, which is kinda accurate sad to say).

It was very interesting to see them try to infect the strigoi (or the more fun name, "mucher") instead of curing them. Lots of interesting concepts you normally don't see in zombie apocalypse media, but then again, vampires are far more interesting creatures. Sure the same loveable clichés are still here, the only difference being that they put far more emphasis into what caused this apocalypse, to a scientific degree even.

Also, I love Fet's line when he's placing all that dynamite in the subway tunnels:

"Wile E. Coyote, eat your heart out."

Though I miss Vaun, 'cause he was cool, Quinlan is quite cooler.
