Much of Greed's skill and technique came from Ling and that skill allowed him to hold his own against a healthy Ultimate Eye Wrath, if not to his overall disadvantage. Meanwhile, Scar was just a bit on par with a weakened Bradley who had lost his Ultimate Eye and was using Reconstruction on top of that. The man literally needed the light of God to bail him out and that still didn't stop an armless Bradley from putting a blade in his gut.

Even not accounting Greed, Ling has still shown skill in fighting multiple Homunculus like Envy and Gluttony. He was even able to hold defensively against Bradley (without the Ultimate Eye) while simultaneously holding onto Ran Fan.

Some of Scar's more notable victories are, as noted already, barely defeating an extremely weakened version of Wrath, killing (according to Word of God) a drunk Basque Grand and getting the drop on Kimblee who by his own admittance, had spent too much time in prison and had gotten sloppy as a result.

At this point, Ling has too much skill on his side and is more than capable of fighting both directly and indirectly. Scar's always been kind of a straight forward sort of a person and a lot of his fights aren't too much to speak about. Not when his foes have either been sitting several years in prison or halfway bleeding out of their guts and still capable of kicking his a***.

Overall, I guess the question is this. Scar barely handled a bloody, eye broken Wrath while using Reconstruction too. Do you believe that Ling would've done any worse than Scar here?

I'll specify (I hadn't prior to); not that you assumed otherwise: Ling is pre-Greed. Scar may or may not be pre Reconstruction (it's up to the poster)

Scar's second visit to Central (after Lust's defeat) vs Ed and Al. Replace Scar with Ling. How does Ling do?
