Silly question about the dragon balls

Why were they really created for?
I know Kami said once that he created the Earth dragon balls to give people hope. But they are originated from Namek so if we apply the same principle, why would Namekians ever need hope for? They are peaceful and they don't really use much for a living.
So what could they ever possibly wish for? Tastier water? Greener skin?

They made them off the shards of the Super Dragon Balls. I'm not sure if it was on purpose that they made magical wish orbs, well Ig it would have had to of been. Idk, I can't remember why.

Ample food supply for the entire world? Putting an end to armed conflicts? Essentially the age-old philosophical questions that have to do with the human being. With relation to the Namekians, was their attempt to undue the great cataclysm referenced in the manga? I can imagine the Namekians having use for the Dragon Balls then during times of great crisis. During any other era of peace, however, I suspect they may just retain the Dragon Balls as a symbol of veneration for the original primordial dragon sphere created by Zarama.

For that cataclysm I don't think they used it. I remember Yajirobe asking that and Roshi said they probably couldn't because the dragon isn't all powerful.

Not to mention they proved to be impractical to save them when Frieza and her gang showed up to the party.

I think the issue with Freeza's incursion has more to do with the lack of creativity in addressing the issue instead of the dragon not having the means to find a workaround for killing him. Think about it - say the Namekians wished for the planet and themselves to be transported thousands of light years away from its present location while leaving Freeza and his men isolated in the vacuum of Space. The second wish would be used to create a supermassive black hole with Freeza and his men located directly at the singularity which is the epicentre where the gravitational pull is most intense. Do you know what happens? The person who is freefalling would be ripped apart by the distorted pull all of the way down to an atomic level. Not even Freeza's famed durability would allow him to survive something like that.

Afterwards, the same course of events pans out with everyone being revived, only now the original Namek is allowed to continue existing.

I was not talking about Porunga having the ability to kill Frieza, even by creating a natural event such as a black hole (even though black holes create from stars and we don't know parameters such as the distance from Namek to its stars and so on and so forth). I was just addressing the matter of them being able to timely summon Porunga, in the first place, having the dragon balls scattered around the planet and stuff.

As for the others, I just assumed Frieza's gender lololololo

Guru told Krillin in Namek Arc this:

DragonBalls were created to as symbol of peace. You do realize about the catastrophe that hit Namek eons ago (dat led to Kataz's son : our Nameless Namekian sent to Earth)

Perhaps that event itself could be a result of OVERUSE of DragonBall.

As for Earth's DragonBall, Kami told Son Goku that those crystals were created for similar reasons as Namekian DB

Difference?

Unlike Namekians, Humans developed individualistic behaviors, each with their personal goals & selfish gains. Which resulted in countless bloodbath & death leading to Kami himself removing the DB's from Human World

But considering how beings like Goku do live among such corrupted craps, Kami decided for DB to remain for the benefit of good souls.
