I mean, if the Bible isn't the literal, physical collection of the word and teachings of God, then it means that all of it is tainted by imperfect humans who're writing it, right?
I meant to say... maybe it is but its not like god actually write thaz down in a literal sense. Its like i tell you to write down what i say. Then the one who writes is you but you write my words not yours

Right ?
But the bible is still a human, imperfect account of God and his beliefs/ideals/teachings, right? 'Cause God himself is incomprehensible to us. He operates on a totally different system.

And how do we know that actually happened?
Well what do you mean ?

If you mean the events in the bible ? They actually happened a lot of them were actually confirmed by historians

I mean, how do we know that God magically reached out to people and told them what to write down in a book?

What historical events in the bible were proven true?

Really? Please provide us with this evidence.

Both of those are proven false both by history and by science.

Hmmm.. maybe i am not a historian

But i do hear sometimes from here and there that the flood story was there in a lot of different cultures so it might actually had some basis or something

Yes, there's a flood story in many different cultures. Floods would happen, of course, and they were much more devastating back then than they would be today. These peoples' livelihoods depended on their farmland and livestock, so if that was destroyed, it could cost them their lives. It's no wonder flood stories were so common.

However, what the bible describes is a flood higher than the tallest mountain peaks--a flood that wiped out every man, woman, and creature except for Noah's family and the pairs of animals selected for the ark. That kind of flood is scientifically impossible. If the ark was elevated higher than the tallest mountains, no one would survive that elevation. If salt water mixed with fresh water, everything that lived in the sea would die. The ecosystem would be completely out of balance.

Not to mention there's the obvious problem associated with fitting everything on-board (impossible), repopulating after the flood, and making sure that the animals on-board didn't attack and eat each other.

The normal cop-out to this is that "God works in mysterious ways" or a comparison to magic, but it's just that--a cop-out.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

There are some events and places we know exist from back then, like the fact that Jerusalem even exists etc but there is no tangible evidence for anything God allegedly did directly.

If there was any kind of flood people would probably just have assumed it was the wrath of God, it clearly didn't happen as described if it happened at all.

The thing that completely pushed me completely away from religious belief was, ironically, religious people...

This group of people came to my high school to do a presentation on Christianity or whatever and they opened with talking about various stories we learn in school.
Like the Three Wise Men, the whole Jesus in the manger thing with all the animals and a bunch of other stories.

None of which happen in the Bible, all made up crap to feed to children. I used to sing Little Donkey to my nan all the time and I don't think that happened either...

It was right then that it was solidified in my mind that "If we can be taught stories like that which didn't even happen then how much more of it is completely made up?"
At which point to me it merely became a story, no different than Star Wars or Santa.

It is the problem of the christian church in the usa they teach things and events which is not even in the bible

Also what is this Mary the mother of jesus and stuff. In the bible she is as important as for example the roman soldier war.

Hech even john baptist has more influence and yet in the usa holx mary is a thing and they worship her like she d be god and stuff

If you think the bible and thus god is bulls*** because of the twisted ideologies of the catholic chrich of the usa than you are wrong

Try to read the bible. You dont have to read the old testament only the new

You will see how many basic teachings or advices of god have the catholic church bypassed or neglected

For example

Jesus and god flat out stated do not worship man made stuff

And yet they kiss and bow before the statue of jesus and mary

Bulls***. They are idiots if not worse or they can not read . They sing in church and they cant read what was written in the bible

Gosh

Yeah but this just brings us to the issue of there is no "The Bible" there's dozens of different translations and edits so how can anyone possibly know what one is the right one?

There's no real concrete evidence for which is right, everyone's is right as far as they're concerned which is easily the biggest flaw with religion in general.

Nothing should be up for debate yet millions have died arguing over it.

I am pretty sure that the bulls***ness of the church aint come from any kind of mistranslations. In fact i think the bible is the most accurately translated material ever
