This is 15th century England. So right near the end of the middle ages. Think big shining knights and longbows.

Google Chrome	The Romans have better logistics but I'm not convinced they'd be able to muster a water invasion that would be successful enough. If it was land to land, they'd take it through sheer numbers and organizational skills, but with the water in the way they can't do it.
