Thala na Gethu!

Pls let me know how is da film cuz based on some sites, its being regarded as epic, classic whatnot

Wanna know if there's actual WAR scene in the film. Like solid 15-20 mins war scene as in say....Narnia.

Or badly edited and/or poorly placed war scene

Also pls say if the film is heavy on plot, dialogues where every character speaks philosophical monologues or a balanced, nuanced performance?

Imma askin this cuz I skipped both Rise & Dawn. My instincts back then told me just whats so impressive of a film being loaded with apes gonna be? At best gonna be Jumanji-esque adventure

But now some reviews are urging me to watch War & I really wanna know if it'll be worth my money, time & effort

I may not be impartial because I really liked Rise and Dawn, but I'm seeing it later today and will post my thoughts when I get back.

I heard on the radio not too long ago that it beat Spider-man for the number 1 movie. That's pretty darn impressive considering that Spider-man hasn't been out that long and how popular he is. I haven't seen this movie yet but hope to in the next few weeks.

I saw it. Didn't think it was as good as Spider-Man or Wonder Woman. I can't put my finger on specifically why. I just wasn't as entertained.

Just got back from seeing it. It was good, not great. There were a lot of cliche moments in it. One or two is alright, but there were enough that it took away from some of the enjoyment for me.

Spidey is popular character no doubt. But Tom Holland is not an A-list Hollywood actor to have global fans throng to theater to watch him....do whatever he does on-screen

Spiderman is a brand, dat has its set of dedicated fanbase. Rest are just action junkies dying to watch yet nother Avenger only this time its da web-slinger

Im stayin in Singapore, and the Homecoming has ZERO hype. Hell, not even comparable to F&F (a B-grade franchise)

Guess dats got to do with actual starpower this time. Except RDJ, none of the cast had any "it" factor. Coupled by the low-scale budget & cliched high-school drama, its not dat great

For it to be toppled by War is no big deal imo

Coming to War for Planet of Apes, I watched it. Dot

Almost felt asleep 2/3 of the time & like Mitas said, 1 or 2 clice moments are okay. But they're overdone here. Felt as if I was watching Korean drama.

Utterly average film. I dump it along WW, nother mediocre output

With dat being said, it was the character "moments" of Ceasar which powered the film. Bad move director!

U cannot place the entire film on the shoulders of an ape, expecting it to succeed at BO

Villain was cliche. Storyline cliche. Sentiment cliched. Plot device cliche. Ending was predictable when I was just 10 mins into the movie. Holy f***!!!!

Watched this last night, it was all right. Good, but not amazing. Definitely better than the second movie, but not the first of the trilogy.

Does anyone know if they're going to remake the first two movies?

This trilogy of prequels is already sort of a reimagining of Conquest for the Planet of the Apes, which also features Caesar rebelling against mankind (long story short, Earth was nuked in the second movie and some Apes escaped into the past in the third, with one female ape giving birth to Caesar), and while it wouldn't be too surprising if they changed things to the point where they make their own "original" Planet of the Apes like the first... I see that these film makers are far too talented to touch such a highly acclaimed cinema gem. Everyone knows by now how the original ends, there's no real twist after all these years of people spoiling it to others and their remake would have to be really different, like maybe showing Dr Zaius' origin or something (even though they've already covered that in some comics).

I would want it to be completely different. I'm sure no matter what though it won't be a happy ending. None of these movies ever are, for the humans anyways.

I don't think a remake of the original is needed, the prequels fit nicely with the rest imo
