Why didn't they do anything with the Demon Realm?

Seriously, why was nothing done with the Demon Realm? I think aside from Dragon Ball filler the only mention was with Dabura. To me it had tons of potential to spawn a perfect villain (well, Dabura). But yeah, it would have been awesome to see more from it and especially if they traveled there. That would have made a great DBZ movie as well, Dragon Ball Super era that is. Dragon Ball Online/Heroes/Xenoverse at least seemed to see that opportunity and create some characters from it.

People keep asking "why did they not do this or that", and that's because, sad to say, the writers don't bother or aren't as into it as the fans are. Not even Toriyama is that into his own creation, popular as it may be.

Another reason could be that Dabura wasn't that popular of a character over there in Japan, and I wouldn't be surprised, he was wasted as one of Babidi's fodder minions.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

There weren't any Saiyans in the Demon World, which means there wouldn't be any hair changing color / length. Toriyama likely didn't know what to do with it.

They already said Dabra was the strongest person from the Demon Realm by a very wide margin. If there was nobody to fight there, there was no reason to delve more into it.

It would be a hell of a mini arc if the demon realm opened up and the inhabitants were released on Earth to cause an upheaval. It doesn't matter if they're weak, that would be disastrous.

I don't see why they couldn't have introduced the Makaioshin. Question its authenticity if you want, but the SEG gives reference to beings of equivalent status to the creation and even grand creation gods existing in Makai. Since Super appears to be primarily fixated on the universal framework and its architects, the gods, why not incorporate one of the most easily usable yet unexplored avenues in the series involving the gods' opposite number?

It's hard I suppose to do it when the one instance we get from the Demon Realm, is its damn king who may or may not have their dormant power unlocked, ending up getting contested heavily by an extremely rusty teenage Gohan.

Yah i liked the idea of that wasn't it something to do with a kai becoming evil or cast to the demon realm. But none the less if they brought in a makai and its equivalent to a god of destruction and angel would make a vary interesting story.

Supreme kai vs supreme makai
God of destruction vs Devil of destruction
The Angel god vs The demon god
Awful names i know lol.
