300 kilis

Goku was 3000 kilis but 300 kilis is enough to destroy a planet. Doesn't make sense to me since goku is way stronger than 10x planet busting. I remember someone had an explanation for this but idk what or who it was

I don't think there is any possible explanation for this, it doesn't work whatsoever. King Piccolo is far far weaker and he had enough power to destroy the planet. This is just another thing in the Buu Arc that deserves to be ignored.

...king piccolo had enough power to destroy a planet?

Anyway, could it be a retcon?

Or maybe it's just not on the same scale. Their actual stats(strength, speed, destructive power, etc.) aren't on the same scale as power level either. Maybe the kili system is just more in line with their actual stats. So maybe ssj goku was strong enough to destroy 10 planets

He's probably referring to the fact that King Piccolo was stronger than Master Roshi who could blow up the Moon, even though that is a very obvious outlier given how it took Piccolo some effort to do so in the Saiyan Saga.

DB in general isn't very consistent when it comes to this sort of thing and the Boo Saga is already pretty weird to begin with so you shouldn't think too much about it.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Planets can vary on diameter and mass. The smallest planet on record is Kepler-37b, which is estimated to be about the same size as the Moon. So technically, anything on 21st Jackie Chun's level could potentially be a planet buster. Alternatively, the largest documented planet, TrES-4b, is even larger than Jupiter. If you want a visual comparison then look at this chart.

Point is - we don't know which specific planet was being cited as an example. For all we know, Babidi and Dabura could have meant planets along the lines of TrES-4B.

There's no indication that the 'planet' that Babidi was talking about would be any different in size than Earth. Rather than assuming that he's talking of a planet that could be 2-1000x bigger than Earth, isn't it just simpler to assume that he's talking about an Earth-sized planet?

It's also pertinent to point out that the numbers 3,000 and 800 symbolize an "enormous amount" in Japan, so I'd take these numbers with a grain of salt. Furthermore, looking at Bobbidi's energy measuring device it seems to cap at 3,000 so who's to say what Goku's full power would actually measure as in Kirirs.

You're mistaken, Super Saiyan Goku is 3,000 kilis. What wouldn't make sense is the fact that 60 kilis would be base Goku's level which is far less then what's needed to destroy a planet and we know base kids are somewhat comparable to Lazuli/18 and the adults are stronger then that in base too.

Key:
-1 kili = 50,000 battle power
-200 kili = 1 planet
-300 kili = 2 planets

Goku: 60 kili = 3 million battle power
-Super Saiyan: 3,000 kili = 150 million battle power
--Super Saiyan 2: 6,000 kili = 300 million battle power
---Super Saiyan 3: 24,000 kili = 1.2 billion battle power

These are low balls though.
