1. Krillin crushing 18's remote control

2. Trunks not providing transparent infos (gender, size) of Androids

3. Babidi attempting to lure Goten/Trunks/Piccolo with dumb decisions to turning civilians into candy/cities into ashes when Fat Buu can wipe-out Earth at will & proceed going to Kaioshin Realms

Your thoughts?

I suppose you meant the 3rd?

When did I mention anything abt Goku wanting kids taking care of Buu?

All I said was Babidi's dumb move of using Buu haphazardly. Loaded with magic & having servant (Fat Buu) at his service, he could've employed much better method of intimidating

Never realized 3, though I guess I never considered it dumb given how Babidi's the kind of pathetic little bugger that takes a liking out of slowly and painfully torturing those he doesn't deem useful.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

That was my opinion.

In the Cell Arc anyways I think Vegeta letting Semi-Perfect Cell transform was the dumbest decision, dumber than Krillin's decision to smash the remote anyways.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

Yeah. And an egotistical, hubris filled move. Trunks was the only rational mind there. Kuririn was, well, enchanted by the pussy. Can't say I blame the man entirely, but combine that with Vegeta? Recipe for disaster. Trunks' failure to provide a picture or even a basic description of the Androids was just... a major derp on his behalf. He managed to give exact dates, times, wheres and whys, but not a description of the who.

As for #3, Bobbidi thought he had already won and wanted to break the will of the last defenders of Earth and just revel in the torture/chaos. He was a sadistic little cricket.

1) Goku not finishing Fat Buu off due to him wanting to leave it to the "next generation." This is particularly stupid because it was this very line of thinking that led to his death during the Cell Games. Basically, his decision to leave Cell to the "next generation" led to his death, which he used as justification to leave Buu up to the "next generation," despite the previous "next generation" being unable to handle the burden of being Earth's savior. Toriyama's decision to have Goku come back and save the day regardless is further evidence that he realized how incredibly asinine this character "arc" for Goku was.

2) Everything Supreme Kai did during the beginning of the Buu saga. Literally everything. Buu would've been a non-factor had Supreme Kai not allowed his hubris and xenophobic paternalism to cloud his judgement. Yamu and Spopovitch would never had been able to extract the necessary energy for Majin Buu had Shin not held Gohan in place, and even if we assume they steadily extracted energy over the course of hundreds of years, by then you're looking at a generation of Z-fighters who could casually Ki blast Buu out of existence. Similarly, if Shin had allowed Vegeta to blast Babidi's Spaceship, the 50% Majin Buu which would've emerged would've been child's play to SSJ3 Goku, SSJ2 Gohan, and SSJ2 Vegeta (?) In short, Supreme Kai is responsible for every single death during the Buu saga. He's the true villain, not Buu.

3) Trunks not killing Androids 18 and 16. This one is particularly bad as it required Trunks to act COMPLETELY out of character, even going so far as to tell 18 to escape (not sure if this is anime exclusive). People harp on Vegeta and Krillin's erroneous decisions, and while they certainly are dumb, they are at least believlable and in-character (Vegeta especially). Trunks not destroying the Androids makes absolutely zero sense, and all justifications for it (i.e. 18 wasn't a threat, 18 hadn't killed anyone yet, etc...) rely on Trunks being some sort of benevolent figure or a Saiyan seeking a challenge. Trunks was depicted as neither, and was one of the more level-headed characters depicted throughout the Androids saga. There was no reason for him to not kill Android 18 except to allow the plot to progress.

To be fair, I'm not counting stupid actions which were relatively in-character (i.e. Vegeta letting Cell transform, Goku giving Cell a Senzu Bean, Gotenks's overall stupidity, Krillin letting his inexperience with women cloud his judgement, etc...). The one's I addressed are simply bad plot devices, but are particularly hazardous because they involve character assassination, which is the biggest no-no for me when it comes to taking an author seriously. If you can't progress the plot forward without having to make your character act OOC, then it's clear that you aren't approaching the story correctly. Hence why most people view the Buu saga as the worst of DBZ (I personally enjoy it, but more for the secondary and tertiary plotlines rather than the actual plot)

1. Taking Bulma to Namek.

2. Arguably, Goku deciding to give Vegeta a second chance to live after what he did. I know that he was after that an important part of the plot and I didn't necessarily want him dead ever after. But if they just made him escape to Frieza through some other circumstances instead of Goku's dumb heroism, that would have been awesome. That's when his noble personality took a turn for the worst and in the end he was just... irresponsible. I mean, hey here's a psycho cold-hearted enemy whose mere presence endangeres everyone you love and here's a chance to kill him. What do you say? 'Let him have my mercy and live, maybe he'll redeem himself... maybe.' Maybe not and he'll keep on murdering innocents!

3. Continuing with the heroic perfume of the story, Goku letting Frieza live. Same sheesh as before.
What do we have here, Goku?
Friezaaa!
And what did she do?
Destroyed planets, killed innocents mercilessly, blew up my best friend, put my son's life in danger!
And what do we do with that?
Show her mercy and give her a second chance and let her go!
But what if she'll keep on murdering cold-heartedly and maybe even come to Earth to get revenge and make everyone you love suffer?
No, she'll become a good person!
No, Goku. Wrong answer. Try again. Use your brain this time.
...
(You know you should visit a psychiatrist when you have mental dialogues with an anime character.)

4. Vegeta taunting Frieza to transform. You dug your own grave, sucka!

5. Krillin not using the Disc to cut Frieza's brain in half.

6. Goku not training seriously enough in the Time Chamber, believing Gohan's gonna take out the trash for him.

7. Vegeta letting Cell become perfect and stopping anyone who tried to stop him. Earth's fate and everyone's fate is below your stupid pride, right? All Universe revolves around you. (I should really seek professional help)

8. Arguably, Krillin not killin' 18. In his defense, at least his reason was noble. It's one thing the way Goku saves villains, one thing Vegeta doing dumb things because he only cares about himself, and a whole 'nother thing Krillin's motives. I think there were lots of ways how 18 could have escaped the scene instead of hanging around Cell for quite a dangerous while, like fly the f*** off, but whatever.

9. Trunks holding back his power when he could have defeated imperfect Cell or at least hold his father back from doing stupid things, because 'I didn't want my daddy to see that I became stronger than him and hate me boohoo'. The same a***** father who wouldn't save him and his mom from a plane crash. Once again, common sense 0 - characters' motives 1.

10. Goku leaving Earth's fate on Gohan's shoulders. Why, in the world, would someone want that for their 9/11-years-old child? If they were, say, in the world's tournament and Goku would give up to let Gohan have the chance to fight the last finalist, in order to make him improve and prove everyone his power... that would be noble indeed. BUT. You don't have a fair fighter here, you have a blood-thirsty monster who is about to destroy the planet. Not to mention how he killed lots of people yada-yada. There was a slim chance Gohan would lose and they will all be dead. There was an even greater chance that Gohan, although he'd be at advantage, he'd still get badly injured and go through a lot of pain (I liked how Gohan was getting the beating of his life in front of Goku and he stood there smiling... while Piccolo was all like 'f*** this sht Imma go get him outta there even if I'll die'). And even if Gohan killed Cell, he could be traumatized afterwards. Imagine the pain for a child who is pressured to kill that bastard with the cost of everyone's lives involved. Goku knew what a drag was being the strongest one and always struggling to keep the planet safe, so he rather went off in outer space and let his little children have it. Mhm... On top of that he even healed Cell, giving him an even bigger advantage to win. All this for what? To show how awesome my son is hurr durr

11. Vegeta letting himself be possessed and doing dumb things again for his pride. After all this time...

12. Goku not killing Buu and Babidi when he turned SSJ3, letting the fate of the world rest on children's shoulders, again. Only that this time we're talking about a 7-years-old and a 8-years-old, who've never been in a serious fight before.

13. Gotenks goofing around and not taking the fight seriously before the fusion wore off.

14. Arguably, Goku saving Satan and the others instead of his sons. But I have mixed feelings about this. I'd be sorry for Dende and the pup, too.

15. Goku refusing to fuse because he wanted a fair fight with Buu, even if it means increasing the chances of losing to Buu. And it's nothing like Frieza, Buu went on a rampage and would teleport from planet to planet in seconds and blast them just like that. And it's the same Buu who ate his wife and friends and blasted his children. But hey, who cares, Goku's about to have the fight of his life! hurr durr

Most of them revolve around Goku and I used to like him in original DB. But now, dunno, from all the possible methods and ways they could use to make the plot go on and have characters get more powerful and stuff, they chose to slaughter Goku's personality and have him make dumb decisions instead. Sad. meh

2. Goku not killing kid buu
3. Gotenks not killing super buu
4. Gotenks thinking he could help gohan
5. Vegeta letting cell transform
6. Krillian smashing remote
7. Goku letting freiza transform
8. Vegito messing with buuhan
9. Vegeta smashing the ear ring.
10. Trunks lack of information

You could think of a whole slew of judgemental shortcomings dating back as early as the King Piccolo arc. For example, Tien foolishly charging headfirst to where his indomitably more powerful opponent is without checking to make sure his sealing device was operable. He then proceeds to try and fight Piccolo and his minions head-on which naturally ends very poorly for him; doesn't even attempt to use his techniques from the 22nd tournament. Instead, this small naive teenager whom you barely know is being entrusted with the fate of the world. Why didn't Tien attempt the Kikoho or escape via Taiyoken-inducing vision obscurity? He could have retreated and acquired an in-tact vessel for the sealing ritual before returning.

From King Piccolo all of the way up to the Saiyans, the Z-Warriors had options they could have used to quell the immediate threat without loss of life. What are these options, you say? Boss Rabbit's Carrot Touch, Akkuman's Devilmite Beam, the Mafuba, and perhaps even Roshi's unique abilities like hypnosis. Inducting these characters to your cause should have been easy enough. Interplanetary pirates who commit genocide impact their well-being just as much as the Z-Warriors and their respective loved ones. Goodness knows these Saiyans aren't the most practical sort. Come to think of it, these abilities should feasibly work against even later threats like the cyborgs, Cell, and Buu. An exception is made for Freeza as no one anticipated him or his faction to be on Namek when they arrived.

The Z-Warriors seem to be completely ignorant to these possible strategic players because all they know to do is bulk themselves enough in the hopes of fighting these aforementioned threats. It's like Goku and Vegeta's idiotic proclivity for letting threats power up rather than kill them immediately, only not so prevalent as anyone who wasn't a Saiyan was gradually phased out of the participatory circle.

@Thiln

Frankly, Tien actually practiced & actually succeded in mastering Mafuba b4 rushing off to Daimou.

I understand your point, but its not like dude can randomly use Mafuba on some random human. Dats....against the whole idea of Tien standing against Daimou

Even during actual fight, Tien had like 90% sucess rate of trapping the mfker inside the jar. Only dat he was blocked by one ugly fatty minion & Piccolo used the diversion to destroy Denki Jar.

While your points on Taiyoken/Solar Flare is valid, dats who Tien is

Dude lost Chiaotzu. Just like in Saiyan Saga, Tien was not willing to live without his buddy anymore.

Hence, decided to enter a war which he would either "Do" or "Die"

Anime depicted a scene where Tien actually speaks to Bulma/Yamcha/Lunch at Roshi's house from his plane dat he does NOT do this for the sake of humanity & stuff. Just selfishly for himself
