Flashy Thing!

This new Amazon product seems to be focused on helping people food related inquiries such as how to make certain dishes and buying food. I personally don't think I would use this, at least not yet but it does seem like an interesting concept. What I don't like is that it seems that you have to pick up the device and press a button for voice commands. I haven't read more into it yet but I just wanted to post about it here before I forgot.

I can't see using this more than 3 times. Sounds like a pain in the a***. Echo has a grocery list feature and can blurt out recipes to you already. I don't use any of those features. Not sure I would either.

I do however have multiple smart gadgets over the apartment, 2 echos (1 echo and 1 dot), 3 smart bulbs, 1 smart outlet, 1 thermostat. It has decreased my energy bill by almost $20 a month. And decreased the energy it takes to turn on lights and tvs and change the temp. I highly recommend mentioned.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

Yeah... this honestly seems like you'd only pull it out when frustrated at the holidays. Doesn't justify the price tag, IMO. I'd rather not have a machine suggest what I eat, either. What about allergies? I mean, I'm sure that's accounted for in the device... but again, that would inflate the cost.

That's an impressive amount of savings by adding devices. I don't plan to buy any smart home stuff for a few years because I'm planning to move and I'm going to need that money for other things.
