The Lord of the Dark

They don't really explain much, 'cause again, it's not really their story, though we do get bits and pieces here and there. One of the better scenes in PJ's Hobbit movies is about this sort of thing.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

This has reminded me I need to watch the extended trilogy. I've seen the theatrical versions a couple times, but I bought the extended box set and haven't seen it yet. I wanted to read the book first, which I did last summer, and it's probably been long enough since I read the book for me to be able to enjoy it thoroughly, rather than feel like I've just gone through the story.

The only thing putting me off is the sheer duration of the films (although I guess that's the whole point of the extended versions). I think I'll watch them in instalments, rather than in one go.

"Next time?"
"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I did that once, it's all like 10+ hours long.

No ragrats.

The second movie is pretty good I think, the final battle in it is cool.

It's worth watching as your first introduction to large scale warfare in the movies.
And I'd say it's easily the least exciting of the three but by no means is it a bad movie.

Also you'd miss an epic reveal that would lose all impact in a summary.
