Favorite Character Debuts?

Anime or Manga, doesn't matter and from any series. What're your favorite debuts for characters?

1. Yamcha- I thought that Yamcha's movie debuts were incredible, I'm referring to the Curse of the Blood Rubies and the Path to Power. They were both super cool moments and really showed how ba he was. Honestly, his Dragon Ball debut wasn't anything overly special. But seeing someone overpower Goku for the first time definitely was cool.
2. Goku- Goku's first appearance in Dragon Ball is just goofy and I love it. Just this random kid doing his everyday life in the woods.
3. Raditz- A new threat landing on Earth and just casually flicks a bullet back, that's nothing impressive, but it was still a cool moment. Then later seeing him take on Piccolo's attack head on.

That's all I can think of right now honestly.

1 Cell

Imperfect Cell's debut in Ginger Town after so much of horrific premonitions & build-up outclasses every baddies the series has to offer. Dat arthropod exoskeleton, reptilian eye & uber badassery standing up close revealing himself to KamiCollo is just...uff

2. Piccolo Daimou

Anime version depicted Daimou as demon, evil incarnate with millions of Dracula-esque offsprings. Quite honestly, its one of the greatest debut for any DB villain

3. Future Trunks

Charming boy coming outta nowhere & hacking Frieza & Co right, left without breaking a sweat when Goku took 10 damn episodes just cemented Future Trunks legacy imo

4. Kaioshin

Dude was floating, legs not touching the Mortal World and yet once shaked-hands with Goku, freaking landed & his humbleness makes him quite a unique character. Plus how his debut would alter the course of the series makes his intro a memorable one

Cell. The mystery surround him was really fun.

Dang, I forgot about Future Trunks. His debut is probably my favorite now that I think about it.

Freeza. After the threat of the saiyans has been stopped, the crew take off for Namek to revive their deceased friends. But word gets out of a tyrannical emperor that rules a huge portion of the galaxy. Then they land there and they sense a massive presence unlike anything before. When his face is finally shown... well it was one of the biggest moments in the franchise.

Cell. The androids were a big deal but they just didn't have that grandiose entry that you would think a more powerful threat than Freeza would have. But when the power of Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, etc. is felt in one spot and they weren't there... it was creepy to say the least. That on top of Kami declaring the impending doom he felt on the planet that made the androids seem like fairies, and needless to say there was a certain intensity not felt in the series before. When his face was finally revealed after the city disappearing and Gohan discovering a strange egg, it was truly terrifying. We knew that s*** was about to go down before a fight even started.

Skinny Boo. While Fat Boo showing his face made for an epic moment, it just lacked the danger that Vegeta, Freeza, and Cell put forth. But when Fatty started going ballistic after Hercule got shot and steam spurted out from his head forming into a bodily shape, there was nothing but a bad vibe coming from the scenario. Skinny Boo takes form and lands, starting a staredown with the former terror-to-the-Earth made friendly personality, and we knew that things would take a turn for the worse. And while Super Boo was also worry-inducing, and the absorption was an off-base turn of events, it wasn't as much of a shocker as this grey entity suddenly appearing without any warning or buildup. Sure, Skinny Boo was much weaker than Super Boo, but this was the moment where things went from purely goofy to dark and morbid.

Probably Cell by far because I think it really put in a point of not only how terrifying Imperfect Cell was but how terrifying it must be as a civilian at the time. Most villains before couldn't give two cents about you.At worse, they'd blow you up which is a pretty much quick and maybe even ultimately painless death. Majin Boo might have wanted to eat you but really, that comes off as just silly and who knows if you're even conscious at the time.

Cell wanted you. Cell was actively hunting you down and your death is going to be slow, painful and you are going to feel every bit of it. Once you see the money man getting absorbed, especially within the anime, it's just like, that thing is after you. It wants you! It doesn't give half a s*** about the fighters or anything, it wants fresh human meat.

You can imagine seeing that debut, especially as a child, and just being a lone in a room one night an then imagine that bug f***er walking in ready to drink your skull cap.

Cell's leading by wide margin.

You should've added a poll.

Anime Kid Buu's debut is another great one. Classic example of never judge a book by its cover & one cannot gauge depth of ocean

After long, streneous shouting from his lungs, a child-like Buu appears giving an empty, vile, yet seemingly disturbingly stare into air. Its a subtle moment considering the legendary status of chaotic beast Kid Buu was in the past, striking fear across Gods of universe

Yeah, Cell in his imperfect form brought quite the build up and a lot of mystery along with him, nevermind the fact that he still looks the freakiest among all DB villains, his presence was feared even when he wasn't the strongest character or even strongest villain at the time.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Pan had an impressive debut. Coming back from circling the Earth to beat her record... That's pretty cool.

I never realized Cell was so popular to be honest. I always had the impression people hated Imperfect Cell and Semi-Perfect Cell. Ig not on this forum.

Yeah, in real life the people I talk to aren't fond of him. I'm not really overly fond of him myself, he's much better than Semi-Perfect Cell though.

Why are you not fond of him? The only argument I see from people who aren't that fond of him is that he looks disgusting.
