Initial DBS plot redundant?

So has the initial plot for DBS/ BoG become redundant?
Beerus was searching for a super saiyan God who could give him his best fight ever, but now that Akira has added multiple universes, various Gods of destruction who im sure could give Beerus the fight hes looking for, Various elite warriors within those universes and apparently now a mortal who is stronger than beerus? The whole starting plot for DBS seems pointless and misleading now.. even if Goku and/or Vegeta match/surpass Beerus, there a numerous fighters at that power level and equally there are various fighters significantly stronger, so all in all the epic prophecy and hype of this "challenge" has developed into a forgettable plot point?

thoughts?

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

It's almost as if the show is less about plot consistencies, and more about 'what's the next most powerful thing we can introduce?'.

"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."

To be fair beerus saw amazing potential in goku. And he was right. Now goku is stronger than most of the people in those other universes. And it's only been less than two years right? So in a way his vision was right. It won't be long from now that goku could give beerus a run for his money

And whis does say his visions aren't really true most of the time so it's of course it might've been an exaggeration I guess. Idk

It's been like this for a while.

The way the played logic in this specific plot makes you believe that they want to turn DB into a comedy again.

I mean, Earth in Cell saga = saved by Gohan
Earth in Buu saga = saved by Goku
Earth in Beerus saga = saved by food!

It's like the ant hill analogy, we consider ourselves advanced but perhaps there are beings out there who view us as ants which we do not have the perception to detect, these other beings walk past without a second thought, just as we walk past an ant.

However, if that ant started throwing tiny rocks at us, it wouldn't hurt but we'd be fascinated by the ant's behaviour because it's so different to what we're used to.

Beerus is the man, Goku and Vegeta are the ants. They peaked Beerus' curiosity by being different to other mortals he's met in his universe.

Beerus may have been looking to discover a figure within his own native universe to endear himself towards and become like a pseudo-rival/companion of his. Goku happens to fit that criteria perfectly with his go-getting attitude and desire to fight the God of Destruction. Vegeta to a lesser extent also fits those specifications, though Goku will probably retain a special place in Beerus' mind and thoughts for being the first Super Saiyan God he's come across and all that.

Which doesn't really make sense since Vegeta is the one who smacked him around without god ki.
