Q: I've heard Toriyama has a direct role into your work, right?

T: Not only mine: he supervises every storyboard related to the Dragon Ball universe.

Is this including the anime? Because from what I've heard the anime is rushed at times so I would think they don't have much time for toriyama to review it

I'm looking for the quote right now but toyotaro said the manga is different than the anime because toriyama is working on it

It was rushed early on I believe. I don't think it has been overly rushed since the ROF arc ended.

Since it’s Akira Toriyama-sensei doing the original story, the manga has a slightly different approach than the TV anime, which results in a different kind of production. I hope you all enjoy that aspect of it for volume 2!! And I hope you keep reading!!

So does toriyama touch the anime at all? Is it like how he supervised the scripts for the 13 movies and he just has a more direct role in the manga?

Well you have to remember the manga itself is still behind the anime and it skipped the whole ROF arc to boot.

I thought it was because the manga had to jump further to promote the the anime but apparently that was toriyama's idea too. He wanted he first two arcs short and sweet
