What an utter disaster. If this makes it through the Senate, that'll be an even darker day for the USA.

For once I'll jump on the left's side and say this is pretty terrible. Not that I was an Obamacare fan, but I was against replacing it until a better option was presented. This is not a better option.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

Not really awesome for me. I'm about to lose my health care and Medicaid.

This is a complete disaster. Millions of people will lose their coverage if the provision about pre-existing conditions is revoked...

It's never gonna make it through the senate. If it does, they are stupider than I thought. It was denied once, it can be denied again.

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

It scares me because things like pregnancy, domestic abuse, and rape are considered "pre-existing conditions" under this new bill.
This means that I can be denied coverage simply because I gave birth to my daughter.

Meanwhile, Trump and the GOP are patting themselves on the back for doing "something", even though that something only benefits the people who don't need health insurance because they're rich enough to cover their own a**es and is absolute garbage compared to the slightly less stinky garbage we have now.

I will preface this by saying I'm not a fan of the bill. That being said, a lot of the fears I've read above seem unwarranted.

First, this will never get passed the Senate looking like this. There will be Amendments and Conference Committees and blah blah, it will come out a lot different. It will also come out a lot closer to Obamacare then it is now, mostly because the Democrats will make sure they get what they what they want in it. As long as GOP is below the 60 vote threshold to bypass the filibuster, nothing major will change.

Second, they are providing 8 billion toward pre-existing conditions over 5 years. Whether that's enough remains to be seen, but the pre-existing aspect is not being revoked in its current form. It's important to note that "Obamacare is failing" isn't just a right-wing talking point. It actually is failing, we can see that by rising premiums, deductibles, quality of care, etc. Hell, I'm on O-care and have a 7500 dollar deductible. Which means unless I'm dying I am not stepping foot near the ER, and there are millions like me. There are theories that Obamacare was destined to fail because that means Government can be the only ones to fix it because they created it, which inevitably leads to universal health care. What will also happen to many people is that they may initially lose healthcare, but then they may find better healthcare for much cheaper price. Maybe I'll be kicked off mine, and the next one I find is cheaper and better?

People may argue that that's great for me, but what about people that need to be on healthcare and can't afford the time to be removed and have to find a new plan? I respond by saying I believe the bill says those people will not be removed from a plan until they have another one in line right away.

Overall, I'm not a fan of this bill just like I'm not a fan of the last bill. I do like the opt-out option, but this bill will be slaughtered and redone in the Senate so this is not how it will end.

Sam,
why are you losing your healthcare? Is there something specific in the bill you see that says that?

It seems Medicaid is being defunded, is it not? Under ObamaCare, young people like me who are at least partially disabled and can't work now are covered and have full health insurance. That's going to be revoked if it's passed as-is.
