There will probably be bullshit like jet packs and wall running even though it's set in WW2. Wouldn't put it past CoD given the past few games.

On one hand, it's nice to see Cod doing WW2 again. On the other hand, it looks to be the same 5% of world war 2 that we always get, Normandy and central Europe and maybe the Russian Front. I kinda wish they'd take a bit of liberty with the fact that it's world war 2 and go places with it.

What about the invasion of Indochina or the Burma campaign? The Invasion of Madagascar? Or perhaps we could fight in the middle east, Lebanon and Syria, trying to free the middle east from the Axis powers. Maybe a desperate struggle in China fighting back the Japanese forces? Or heck, even just going to say Norway or Finland would lend a bit more variety to what you're doing, or perhaps playing as a Canadian soldier trying to take back Italy.

I don't think they will, but I really do hope that CoD at least goes into some of this stuff. WW2 can be such a varied setting, if only people would let it.

That all said, I am happy to see that they're taking another gander at The Second World War.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Yeah I'm cautiously optimistic here, Battlefield 1 was a huge letdown so I'll wait after launch or if there's some solid gameplay before hand before deciding.

I mostly just want as good a campaign, particularly soundtrack as WAW. That s*** was amazing.
Hopefully this isn't a carbon copy of it though.

It'd also be really cool if they did some single player DLC for once.

And I'm sure they'll chuck zombies in so it'd be nice if they rebooted CoD zombies and made it scary again. f*** off with zombies in Spaceland again.
The whole series got far too goofy.

I'm torn between this and Battlefront 2 though, I've given CoD many second chances and it's failed every time so EA deserves another chance.

Apparently in the campaign it won't have auto-regen.

I'm vastly more interested now, hopefully they change the meta quite a bit too.

I mainly want some incentives to work as a team from the gameplay though, there's literally none currently. Which is especially stupid in a World War setting.

Co-op with some helpful perks would be cool too, so that it's actually worthwhile and fun to team up.

No auto regen? Wow that's unexpected if that's true. I'm definitely more hyped for the campaign than the online. Playing a good ww2 COD campaign would be pretty nostalgic

Yeah I just hope that that isn't the whole idea, that they're just doing CoD in WW2 again and assuming that's enough. They need to reinvent the series a bit or EA is just going to kick their a***.

BF1 was a disappointment but it's probably the beta version of their next WW2 game.
Not that I'm a fan of that practice but still better than yearly CoD.

I mean honestly I don't think there needs to be a complex story at all. COD 2 and WAW(?) were more just like "this battle happened here at this time and you're going to play it" weren't they?

I don't need a complex story. I just need one that keeps my attention and makes me actually interested in playing all the way through. The only ones that have done that so far have been WaW, MW2, and BO1. I was almost going to play AW's campaign because it looked great at the time and Kevin Spacey, but the multiplayer ruined the whole game for me.

WAW wasn't complex but it made you feel pretty involved I thought.

Either you were with Reznov and the other dude tearing s*** up or you were with the American crew fighting together, I thought it was fantastic. It was appropriately gritty and when one of your bros dies it was pretty sad to see them go down.

Compared to Ghost in MW2 who's defining characteristic was "Has a mask on" but people act like it was one of the biggest gaming tragedies...

Heck, I'll be happy if it just has a soundtrack like this:

That mission was f***ing awesome.

Dammit I need to find that game in a bargain bin somewhere and play it again...
