Location: A ruined city with a hidden secret.

I'll take first post.

Rubble littered the streets as a lone woman walked through. Black hair just down to shoulder length, brown eyes, scanning the area. Something about this area made her nervous, and it wasn't simply the the lack of people or the decay of the city. Her mark seemed to ring out like crazy. A mark on the back of her hand, warning her of magic and the otherworldly. Stepping over a piece of rubble, she headed into a building, simply searching for something, anything really. She knew fully well something was off about this place, both her gladius and her wakizashi, were in hand.

Her ears listened, nothing but the wind. This city was dead, not even animals around to scurry in the remains.

Nothing. And yet she knew something lurked here, in the dead city. Waiting.

Sun Yeu continued walking, looking for a sign of life, or at least a sign of something than a city bombed out of oblivion.

On the far side of the coty, a red cloaked figure moved along broken streets. Its face was obscured by the cowl of its hood, but what raiments could be seen implied a religious connection of some sort. A low mururing could be beard near the figure, its pitch and tone implying male vocalizations. And indeed, Hael-Beta of the Adeptus Mechanicus was a man.....once. Now, he was more machine than man, as befit his Tech-Priest nature. In one hand was his walking staff, a simple metal construction with an imperious rendition of the AdMech Holy Cog crowning it. Both symbol and impromtpu weapon, when needed as such. But he had other equipment he could use for warfare.

All the same he was here on another matter. Sensors indicated a dormant shred of technology left in these ruins. And it was his job to go get it. Where men like Faeris would see it locked away for paranoid safety, however......Hael-Beta and his lot would seek to explore the technology's potential, and perhaps replocate it en masse.

Of course, he'd first need to find it first.

The Mark was growing stronger. Whatever had done this, whoever had done this, was getting closer. To further confirm her suspicions, she began to hear steps through out the silent streets of the necropolis. Metal upon the ground.

...Where... Was this? She began to head into a building, it looked like it used to be an old office building, she could get a good vantage point up there. Sun Yeu began to walk up the steps instead, and upon getting to the third floor, would press herself against one of the cubicle walls, her blue jacket, blue trousers, and red shirt didn't afford her much in the way of camouflage, so she has to make use of what cover she has, at least until she's figured out what's out there. She looked upon the city, looking for anything moving, any object standing out from the dead remains of this city... Just what was out there?

Stepping out into the square, Hael-Beta waited. He brought an arm up, its fingers curling into his palm a moment at measured patterns: command prompts. In an ocular implant, his sensor data reset, adding a more precise location to the apparent prize. It also noted an organic contact far closer in apparent overwatch position on him. But it hadn't fired.

"Curious...."

The voice that came out was heavily digitized, with an artificial buzz near the end of the word, as if spoken through a walkie-talkie.

All the same, Hael was not interested in the person. He just turned back to the sensor point and kept walking.....his steps crushing right through some large rubble, though it was still only man-sized.

Whatever this red cloaked thing was, it wasn't human. as it moved around, and kept walking... It was here for the same reason she was. Something here was bringing them here... Something felt off about them, she began to head down the building, it was likely he had a better idea than her what was here...

Whatever it was, she had to see it, and she had a bad feeling about this person. Shadowing the person she proceeded to follow him, running in the buildings, following him by, always trying to keep a building wall between them. Climbing over rubble rather than stepping through it, as time went on she eventually went on ahead, deciding to go to where the object was, where the mark would tell her it was, and simply wait for Hael-Beta instead. She knew they were here because of the same thing, all that remained was to see what Hael Beta would do when they met again.

When Hael got close enough, his sensors noted several explosive compounds in the next update. Which fit with what Hael suspected, due to the location of the item: it was obviously unexploded ordinance left behind during one war or another but of a design that was not known to Hael-Beta. It practically demanded study......but still that humanoid stayed on sensors. So Hael looked towards Sun, and for once looked......disturbed.

"You tresspass upon an Adeptus Mechanicus mission. Withdraw from this place or your life is forfeit."

Inside the robes came four mechadendrites, mechanical actuated arms fitted with various tools and impromptu weapons. But in Hael's hands were two incredibly dangerous weapons: a Plasma Pistol, and a Power Saber, both glowing woth their respective deadly energies.

Sun Yeu eyed this man as he made his threat. Six appendages, and each one with a weapon of some sort, and his own hands was a sword, and some kind of pistol. Her gladius and wakizashi were absolutely at a disadvantage in a fight with this person, not to mention that gun at his side. The Adeptus Mechanicus clearly wasn't interested in negotiating. Fine, she can just as easily get answers from a cripple.

She stood there for a bit, anticipating his most likely move. They weren't that close so his most likely option is...

She dashed to what seemed to be a large building, whatever it was before seemed lost to time, though it was clearly some kind of skyscraper of some description. Her mark was definitely pointing her in it's direction as well, she was fairly certain he had to go there as well. She knew she'd probably half to have the battle on her terms, rather than just charging him in the open street.

She made her way into the building...

Hael followed after her, mechadendrites spinning around his body to track for movement. Rather than go through actual doorways to find the girl and deal with her, he found it more logical to blast large holes in the walls with his Melta attachment mechadendrite and possibly also leave any trap she may have set nothing more than molten slag and vaporized material. Hael's Plasma Pistol was held at the ready, moving slowly as he scanned the rooms for any sign of her.

She could her his heavy steps, along with the blasting of the melta attachment going through wall after wall. It was clear, he was trying to destroy any cover she could use. Simple but not stupid. Still, Hael would find that he was naive in thinking that this was a good enough defense.

Sun waited. Time passed as he made his way through the complex, destroying walls and heading straight through them. Until...

She listened closely, shadowing him, before making her move, she sliced through the floor, his ceiling, right above him, and struck at the pistol with the Gladius as her Wakizashi sliced at the mechadendrites on his back. Destroy the pistol, and hopefully damage those extra arms of his. Regardless of the response he made, if she landed on him or not, she'd jump away through the newly created walk way, and run past the walls, again attempting to disappear into the building's walls, stairs, and doors. Hit and run, and cut off the tentacles of his octopus.

The gladius bit deep into the Plasma Pistol. For a microsecond, surprise registered on what little human face remained beyond the augments. But just as quickly, the Wakizashi was deflected by the superior metal of the mechadendrite. Unfortunately, Hael-Beta was not as well-versed in actual close combat as Skiitari Tech-Troopers and so the deflection slid across his shoulder instead of away from it.

However, once the surprise was over, Hael quickly moved to engage fully, and with all the skill be did have. The Buzzsaw Mechadendrite he used to carve away broken metal whirred like a banshee and lashed out in mighty sweeping blows, followed by quick but savage stabs with his Power Saber. The Plasma Pistol was no longer servicable.....and likely unknown to the woman, far from a stable weapon to begin with. Hael took advantage of that information and tossed it behind her, hoping to force her to retreat in his onslaught. And if she did......she'd find the Plasma Pistol about to explode beneath her feet. While the breathing aparatus augment that could filter through even the most radioactively choking smog covered his mouth fully, the area around his eyes crinkled in a way not unlike amusement.

He simply awaited the explosion about to happen.

The Gladius went into the pistol, but the wakizashi failed to pierce into the metal arms, sliding off, though thankfully into his actual arm, rather than off. One thing was pretty clear, this man didn't deal too well with close quarters combat despite his willingness to engage in it. However, despite that blunder, he was still able to respond quickly, a buzzsaw came at her, loudly, like it was screaming in pain. She'd be as well if she let it hit her.

Sweeping back and forther to catch her, as the cyborg's sword stabbed forth at her, while dealing with just one would be easy, a simple dodge or parry, it was not so simple with both at once, and rather than try to deflect both, especially with six other limbs this spider person could use. She mad a retreat, backing away in order to find another avenue of attack, hopefully one that could further wound him before he could bring his appendages to bear. It was just then she noticed something odd about that plasma pist-
Oh no.

Immediately, without thinking, she leaped to the side, the plasma pistol exploding, the force of it even throwing her further balance, not only but the explosion blew a hole underneath to the basement, closer to the object, whatever it was that brought them here. Dust is sent everywhere, clouding more of the area in a haze.

Sun Yeu, got back to her feet, that pistol actually exploded?

...No matter, she still needed to kill him. She ran around the man, behind the walls and furniture. She'd close in on him again, behind furniture, not for cover from fire, but cover from sight, to prevent him from getting a clear shot at her, she still needed to deal with that ranged attachment on his arm.

Moving from cover to cover, between the now dusty hallways, she waited for him to attempt to take the initiative for now. If he had any more tricks like that it was best to find them out when she wasn't committing to an assault...
