Getting a PS4 soon (thank god) and was wondering if it's better to get a physical copy of a game or download the games? |

Both options are okay in my opinion. I think you could only download up to 10 or so if it had a 500gb capacity? Not sure. Personally, I keep them all digital. The few I have played that is. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

The only advantage in buying physical copies nowadays is the potential value it'll have in 10-20 years. Rare NES and SNES games go for ten thousands of dollars and even games I'd call uncommon is sold for a few thousand. Unless you're a cleaning freak, keeping physical copies is much more of a hassle aswell, which is why most of my games are digital. |

Physical is also good if you trade games in, which I tend to do. |

If you plan to get a lot of games I recommend getting a 2TB HDD firstly, 1TB or 500GB doesn't last all that long. 2TB is the sweet spot for being able to download a lot and manage what you have while having a comfortable amount of space. Anyway digital games tend to load a lot faster since they're on the disk already and you can share them with others which is pretty neat. But you can sometimes be locked out of playing them and need to restore the licenses. I prefer physicals because it's nice to have a collection, you can trade them in and it's easier to get your money back if something is faulty. Not to mention lending or borrowing them. I traded in like 17 games and only had to pay £100 or so for a brand new PS4 Pro. Awesome. Overall I'd say physical, it sucks having digital games you came to dislike in your library. I bought Dying Light and Black Ops 3 on release for £50 each and hated both of them, can never get anything back now. £100 down the drain there to laugh at me forever. |

Yeah. I've bought a few games at full price and then either completed them quickly, or got bored of them quickly, and traded them in for around 50%. That usually works out at around £23-28 depending on how quick you trade it in, which is a large chunk of change to save. You don't get that benefit with digital downloads. |

Actually to add to this, physical is generally better imo but a combination of both is best. You get some great discounts from time to time digitally, I got Battlefield 1 for £36 like a month after it was out which is around £14 cheaper than the regular price. And because it's a game I'll dip in to every now and then it's handy to have it digitally to play whenever and obviously being digital it's easy to take if I go on holiday. If it's something you know you'll definitely like and not trade it's worth going digital if it's cheap for sure. Edited by Steve, Apr 7 2017, 02:40 PM.
